About the role

We're looking for an experienced Site Superintendent to oversee all on-site construction activities and lead day-to-day field operations, ensuring that construction projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. As the on-site leader, you'll coordinate subcontractors, oversee project execution, enforce safety protocols, and serve as the key link between field operations, project management, and clients. What you'll do

Site Management and Supervision

  • Oversee day-to-day construction operations on site and ensure site security.
  • Coordinate, supervise and drive on-site execution of subcontractors, trades, and field personnel.
  • Ensure all work is performed according to drawings, specifications, and schedules.
  • Monitor site logistics, including material deliveries, equipment use, resources and storage, including tool management.
  • Order construction building materials.
Safety and Compliance
  • Enforce company and regulatory safety policies (e.g., OSHA standards) and ensure overall site safety compliance.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings, weekly toolbox talks, and site inspections.
  • Identify and mitigate potential hazards to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Maintain and document safety records, incident reports, and compliance logs.
  • Follow and enforce the safety violation 5 minute rule.
Schedule Management
  • Develop and maintain the project’s construction schedule in coordination with the Project Manager.
  • Plan daily, weekly, and monthly work activities to meet milestones.
  • Track progress and identify schedule risks or delays early.
  • Coordinate sequencing of work among trades to maintain efficiency.
  • Take care of short-range scheduling (one month or less) and coordinate with Foremen.
Quality Control
  • Quality control, review construction work to ensure it meets design intent, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Inspect materials and workmanship, addressing deficiencies promptly.
  • Maintain quality assurance records, including for general building inspections and test reports.
  • Oversee mock-ups and ensure corrective measures for non-conforming work.
  • Drive the coordination of all inspections, reminding teams of upcoming deadlines and ensuring necessary pre-inspections are completed.
  • Confirm that all foreman are reviewing their crews quality of work prior to having them move to their next task.
Communication and Coordination
  • Act as the primary on-site contact between contractors, project managers, consultants, and clients.
  • Lead regular site meetings and coordinate field reports and updates.
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders about progress, issues, and changes.
  • Support the Project Manager with documentation, reporting, and issue resolution.
  • Address immediate issues with subcontractors and provide updates to the Project Manager.
  • Function as a team with the Project Manager, primarily responsible for site coverage.
Resource and Workforce Management
  • Accountable for management of all site manpower requirements and coordinate labor allocation.
  • Manage and verify daily attendance and logs including: hours, cost codes, timesheets/reports, and work performance.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of construction equipment and tools.
  • Forecast resource needs in coordination with the foremen and coordinate with procurement and logistics teams.
Documentation and Reporting
  • Maintain up-to-date drawings, field reports, and logs (RFIs, daily reports, inspections, etc.).
  • Track change orders, material usage, and progress photos.
  • Assist with as-built documentation and project closeout records.
  • Keep a daily log of all communications with vendors, subcontractors, and Project Managers.
Problem Solving and Decision Making
  • Identify field conflicts or constructability issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Anticipate project risks and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
Leadership and Team Development
  • Lead by example and promote a culture of safety, respect, and quality.
  • Mentor field staff and encourage professional growth and accountability.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • If you are on leave, make sure you have someone assigned as backup to manage individual projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in Construction Management or a related field is an asset.
  • 5+ years of construction experience, including at least 2–3 years in a Superintendent or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and OSHA safety regulations.
  • OSHA 30 certification required (or ability to obtain upon hire).
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules.
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors, managing site logistics, and maintaining project schedules.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, or similar).
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required.

The pay range for this role is:
85,000 - 110,000 USD per week(Buffalo, NY)
