FOH Team Member in Ardmore, Pennsylvania at The Buttery

The Barista & Counter Service role at The Buttery is responsible for supporting daily front-of-house operations and delivering a consistent, welcoming guest experience. This position involves taking orders, preparing and serving coffee and food items, and maintaining an organized and visually appealing service area.

Team members are expected to develop a strong understanding of the menu, coffee program, and retail offerings in order to accurately answer questions and assist guests. Responsibilities also include processing transactions, restocking displays, and upholding cleanliness and presentation standards throughout the space.

This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

We are looking to add team members who are interested in working through the fall and holiday season.

• Provide warm, attentive service to all guests by greeting, guiding, and assisting them throughout their visit.
• Accurately take food and beverage orders, operate the POS system, and handle transactions with care and efficiency.
• Help prepare and serve our menu items with care and consistency, ensuring everything meets The Buttery’s high standards for quality and presentation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment in all front-of-house areas, including the counter, seating, and outdoor spaces.
• Restock pastry displays and retail shelves, assist with deliveries, and ensure the space looks its best.
• Support and uphold health, food safety, and sanitation standards alongside the rest of the team.
• Collaborate with the team to resolve guest concerns, share feedback, and foster a respectful, team-oriented environment.
• Assist in onboarding new team members and continue learning about our menu, coffee, and tea offerings.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in high-volume coffee or a customer-facing role in food, beverage, or retail is preferred.
• Strong time management, organization, and communication ski ls, with the ability to stay focused and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
• Genuine passion for hospitality, with a love for great food and drink and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
• Team-oriented and self-motivated, with a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and willingness to support and uplift others.
