Host in Windham, New York at Windham Mountain Club

Work Location: In-person role based in Windham, NY.

Seasonal Position: This role is available for the winter season.

Pay: 18 per hour

Anticipated Start Dates: Weather-dependent, typically beginning in early December.

Scheduling Expectations: Part Time evening shifts on weekends and holiday are needed.

Conditions: This role is primarily performed indoors in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Position Summary:

The Host is responsible for creating a welcoming and positive guest experience by managing dining room flow, coordinating seating, and providing exceptional customer service. This role works closely with guests and team members to maintain an organized, clean, and inviting dining atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and welcome guests upon arrival.
• Manage guest seating and dining room flow.
• Provide friendly, professional, and efficient service.
• Maintain knowledge of menu offerings and daily specials.
• Ensure tables are properly set and dining areas remain clean and organized.
• Support servers and bussers as needed.
• Maintain a welcoming and orderly entrance area.
• Provide guests with information about WMC amenities, events, and daily snow conditions.
• Follow all safety, cleanliness, and service standards.

Qualifications:

• Friendly, professional, and guest-focused attitude.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to remain composed in busy, high-volume settings.
• Previous hospitality or restaurant experience preferred.
• Knowledge of fine dining or banquet service is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to navigate uneven terrain, including snow- and ice-covered surfaces.
• Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and climb stairs regularly.
