Trimmer & Packager SWING SHIFT in Richardson Sports, Oregon at Richardson Sports Inc

The Quality Control Trimmer/Packager supports production by inspecting, trimming, tagging, and preparing products to meet company quality standards. This role is responsible for identifying defects, ensuring materials and finished goods conform to specifications. The position requires routine trimming of threads and labeling. The role demands attention to detail, use of basic measuring tools, and adherence to quality and safety procedures in a clean, temperature-controlled manufacturing environment.

The schedule for this position is Monday-Thursday 3:30pm-2:00am.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepares, organizes, counts, sorts, labels, trims, packages, and otherwise processes hats, apparel, materials, and products as required to support production.
• Reviews art pages, product information, and production instructions to ensure the correct product, materials, sizing, sequence, and requirements are followed.
• Inspects hats and apparel for quality, accuracy, sizing, and sequence to established specifications.
• Identifies and communicates defective materials, quality concerns, equipment issues, or other conditions that may affect safety, quality, or production.
• Maintains materials and supplies within the assigned work area and communicates replenishment needs.
• Follows established work methods, quality standards, safety procedures, and direction from supervisors or leads.
• Meets established quality, productivity, attendance, and work performance expectations.
• Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Works collaboratively with supervisors, leads, and coworkers to support production workflow.
• Learns and performs related production activities as operational needs change.
• Performs other related duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous manufacturing, production, assembly, packaging, or quality inspection experience preferred.
• Ability to learn Richardson products, production processes, quality requirements, and work procedures.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to read, understand, and follow art pages, product information, written instructions, and established procedures.
• Ability to perform basic math, counting, and measurement as required for assigned work.
• Ability to use basic hand tools, measuring devices, and equipment associated with assigned tasks.
• Ability to perform repetitive work while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to recognize and communicate quality, material, safety, or process concerns.
• Ability to maintain an appropriate work pace and meet established production expectations.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Training Requirements

Employees are expected to successfully complete and maintain training required for the position and assigned work area, including:

• General workplace and production safety training.
• Quality awareness and applicable quality procedures.
• Job-specific equipment, processes, and work instructions.
• Other training required based on assigned responsibilities.

Physical Demands

• May be required to stand for extended periods, including up to 8–10 hours in a shift, depending on the assigned work area and tasks.
• Some assigned tasks may be performed while seated.
• Frequently uses hands, wrists, and arms to handle, trim, inspect, package, and process products and materials.
• Performs repetitive hand, wrist, arm, and upper-body movements throughout the workday.
• Requires continuous or frequent visual attention to products, materials, art pages, and quality requirements.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, or move materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
• Requires visual abilities necessary to perform detailed inspection and production work, including close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Personal Protective Equipment

Employees are required to use personal protective equipment designated for the assigned task or work area. Eye protection and other protective equipment may be required or available depending on the work being performed.

Work Environment

Work is primarily performed in a manufacturing and production environment. Employees may work around production equipment and machinery and may experience varying levels of noise and activity depending on the assigned work area.
