Youth Volleyball Coach | Chandler and Gilbert, AZ

B.E.S.T. is looking for an energetic and dependable Volleyball Coach to lead one-hour classes on weekday afternoons for elementary-aged children in grades 1–5. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys teaching sports, working with kids, and creating an active, positive environment where players can learn and have fun.

Our coaches lead structured classes focused on fundamental volleyball skills, movement, teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence. You’ll be responsible for keeping students engaged while creating a safe and encouraging experience for every player.

• Lead 1-hour volleyball classes for students in grades 1–5.
• Teach age-appropriate volleyball fundamentals through drills, activities, and games.
• Introduce skills such as passing, setting, serving, movement, and basic court awareness.
• Keep students active, engaged, and participating throughout the class.
• Demonstrate proper techniques and explain skills in a way elementary-aged players can understand.
• Manage a group of children while maintaining a positive and organized class environment.
• Encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, effort, and confidence.
• Follow B.E.S.T. curriculum and coaching expectations.
• Communicate professionally with parents, staff, and program partners.
• Arrive 30 minutes before class, and stay 10 minutes after class — paid.
• Set up and put away equipment before and after programming.

Someone who is:

• Comfortable coaching and communicating with elementary-aged children.
• Energetic, positive, patient, and enthusiastic.
• Dependable and committed to consistent attendance.
• Comfortable leading a group independently.
• Able to teach volleyball skills while keeping the class fun and engaging.
• Professional when interacting with children, parents, and school/community partners.
• A strong communicator and team player.
• Experienced with volleyball, youth sports, coaching, teaching, or recreation preferred.

• Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Reliable personal vehicle and ability to travel to assigned program locations.

Pay: $25/hour
Schedule: Part-time, weekday afternoons
Class Length: 1 hour
Paid Prep/Cleanup: 30 minutes before class + 10 minutes after class
Age Group: Grades 1–5

• Must be able to reliably travel to assigned program locations.
• Must be able to participate in physical activities, including running, throwing, demonstrating drills, and playing with students.
• Must be able to lift and transport up to 40lbs.
