Powder Coat Painter III – Expert/Trainer NIghts in at HENNIG INC

The Powder Coat Painter III serves as an advanced technical resource and trainer within the powder coat work center, independently performing all required operations while supporting production, quality, safety, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities include troubleshooting work-center issues, reviewing production schedules and product quality requirements, performing repair and rework activities, monitoring downstream impacts, adjusting wash-system chemicals, performing periodic maintenance, and using drawings and 3D models to verify parts.

Requirements:

· Education: High School Diploma/GED required

· Experience: 5+ years of continuous experience in a manufacturing environment in a painting/powder coat position required

· Reading Ability: Must be able to read and understand English

• Ability to learn and safely operate crane equipment after required training.
• Understanding of PPE, shop safety, and 5S requirements.
• Ability to lift and handle parts weighing up to 40 pounds and work with team members to handle larger parts.
• Ability to work effectively with others and receive direction from more experienced powder coat painters.

· Provide flexible support across all production areas as needed.

• Review production schedules and identify issues that could affect scheduled production.
• Complete all powder coat work-center tasks independently.
• Review completed products for full compliance with applicable quality checklists.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues that arise within the powder coat work center.
• Perform multiple powder coat work-center functions as needed to support production and staffing requirements.
• Perform required repair and rework activities on parts and designated part areas.
• Monitor downstream production activities and proactively address conditions that could create quality or production issues.
• Monitor and adjust wash-system chemicals according to established process requirements.
• Perform required periodic maintenance on the wash system.
• Maintain work-center operations in accordance with established 5S requirements.
• Identify and recommend opportunities to improve work-center safety.
• Train employees on individual tasks and processes required within the powder coat work center.
• Access and review 3D models to verify parts and part numbers.
• Use computer systems to access manufacturing drawings and 3D models.
• Properly use and store tools required for work-center operations.
• Maintain the work center in accordance with established 5S requirements.
• Work safely around forklift and crane operations and follow designated aisles, work zones, and storage areas.

· Operate power/hand tools, measuring devices, and instruments used for assembly.

· Adhere to established work schedules, break periods, and company policies regarding phone use, smoking, music, and general workplace conduct.

• Use required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, masks, safety shoes, and other work-center-specific PPE.

· Understand and follow quality standards and workmanship requirements for assigned tasks and responsibilities.
