Position Overview:
This role will involve supporting the internal and external communications of a diversified agribusiness. This position is an exciting opportunity for a motivated student who is looking to build their skillset, gain hands-on experience in agricultural communications, and contribute to the growth and success of our company.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Learn and apply WFR core values and contribute to a positive culture.
- Supports the HR team with day-to-day internal and external communication needs, including content creation, employee communications, and brand consistency
- Draft, edit, and proofread content for employee newsletters, announcements, bulletin boards, and internal memos.
- Translate materials between English and Spanish and verify that bilingual documents match in content and formatting.
- Capture photos and video at farm sites, company events, and community activities, following all biosecurity and site-access requirements.
- Organize and maintain the digital asset library, including photos, video, logos, and approved templates.
- Draft, schedule, and monitor social media posts; track engagement and flag comments or messages that require a response.
- Assist with recruiting and employer branding materials, including job postings, career fair displays, and new hire welcome materials.
- Prepare flyers, signage, slide decks, and printed materials for farm sites and company meetings.
- Assist with departmental marketing initiatives.
- Support planning and execution of internal events such as employee appreciation activities, safety meetings, open houses, and community outreach.
- Perform general administrative and HR projects as assigned such as candidate interviewing, background checks, training videos, SOP development, etc.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding company information, employee information, production information, biosecurity practices, and other proprietary or confidential information.
- Understand & follow WFR's biosecurity protocol, including showering in and out of the facility when visiting production sites
- Understand & follow WFR's animal welfare policy
- Understand & follow WFR's handbook and procedures

Requirements:Education and Experience
Currently enrolled at a college or university, pursuing a degree in agriculture, communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field.
Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred, including the ability to speak, write, proofread, and interpret in both languages
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages, with attention to grammar, accuracy, and detail
- Strong interest in agriculture and agribusiness with a desire to learn and self-develop
- Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude
- Strong prioritization and organizational skills
- Effectively communicate with team members
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; experience with Canva, and social media scheduling tools is a plus
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to farm sites and company events
- Ability to handle sensitive company and employee information with discretion
Physical Requirements
- Frequently sit and work at a computer for extended periods, typically 4 to 8 hours a day
- Occasionally stand and walk for extended periods while visiting farm sites or supporting events, including on concrete, slatted flooring, and wet or uneven surfaces
- Occasionally bend, stoop, reach, squat, and kneel while capturing photos and video or setting up event and display materials
- Capable to do repeated actions, including typing, writing, and handling camera or event equipment
- Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull a minimum of 25 lbs., and occasionally more with assistance
- Occasionally climb stairs and ladders and work in confined or low-clearance areas within barns, shops, and other production facilities while capturing content
- Ability to comply with biosecurity requirements, including showering in and out of the facility and wearing required personal protective equipment
- Sufficient vision, hearing, and speech to review written materials, conduct interviews, and communicate clearly in an office and in a noisy farm, shop, or production environment
Work Environment
- Schedule: Part-time or full-time depending on the semester and school schedule. Hours are set by the HR Manager and fall within standard business hours. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be expected for events. Employees are expected to be punctual and reliable to hours set.
- Environment: Primarily an office setting, with periodic visits to farms, production facilities, shops, and outdoor event sites. These environments are indoors and outdoors and dusty, and the noise level is usually moderate to loud.
- Travel: Occasional travel to farm sites, meetings, career fairs, and company or community events. A valid driver's license is required.
