| Position Description | The Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at Harvard University invites applicants for the Reginald A. Daly Postdoctoral Research Fellowship. The Department seeks candidates in the broad field of Earth and Planetary Sciences including but not limited to geology, geochemistry, geobiology, geodynamics, petrology, geophysics, oceanography, atmospheric dynamics, climate science, atmospheric chemistry, Earth history, hydrology, mineralogy, mineral physics, paleomagnetism, seismology, and planetary sciences. We welcome methodological approaches that span field observations, lab-based science, theory, and computation. The Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences celebrates the multiple dimensions of diversity that each member of our community offers, including diversity of background, perspective, and lived experience. We strongly welcome applications from persons from underrepresented groups. These honorific postdoctoral fellowships are awarded for a one-year period, with an anticipated extension for a second year. Daly fellows carry out independent research and may choose to interact with one or more research groups in the department. Applicants are encouraged to contact members of the department before applying. Applications should include a cover letter that includes the faculty member you would like to work with, curriculum vitae and a two-page research proposal, as well as the names, affiliations, and email addresses of three referees. Applicants are responsible for contacting the referees. Referees would need to have their letters uploaded to the link provided by the application site.
