Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Commercial Account Executive, based in United States.
This role is a full-cycle sales position focused on selling cybersecurity solutions to organizations with up to approximately 2,500 employees.
You will own the sales process from prospecting and pipeline generation through evaluation, negotiation, and close.
The position is highly outbound-oriented, rewarding disciplined activity, strong follow-up, and consistent pipeline management.
You will work directly with security teams to understand their challenges, run credible evaluations, and develop compelling business cases.
As an early seller in an emerging category, you will help shape sales messaging, product priorities, and the broader go-to-market playbook.
The environment values customer focus, accountability, collaboration, urgency, and continuous improvement.
You will also be encouraged to use AI-native tools and workflows to improve research, preparation, follow-up, and sales execution.
- Own an individual sales quota and manage the complete sales cycle from initial outreach through contract signature and handoff.
- Build and maintain a primarily self-sourced pipeline through outbound prospecting, professional networks, events, and channel partners.
- Develop consistent high-volume prospecting activity while maintaining disciplined follow-up and accurate CRM records.
- Research target accounts and identify relevant security challenges, stakeholders, and potential business opportunities.
- Lead discovery conversations with security teams and uncover business and technical requirements.
- Run structured product evaluations and proofs of value in collaboration with technical resources.
- Drive evaluations toward clear outcomes and avoid stalled or open-ended pilots.
- Build relationships with multiple stakeholders across security leadership, IT, identity, procurement, and related functions.
- Develop business cases that clearly connect security challenges with measurable organizational value.
- Manage negotiations, approvals, and commercial processes through to successful close.
- Maintain accurate opportunity stages, next steps, close dates, and forecast information.
- Provide reliable forecasts and communicate deal risks, dependencies, and required actions clearly.
- Monitor competitive activity, objections, customer feedback, and recurring market patterns.
- Share field insights with product, marketing, and sales leadership to influence messaging, roadmap priorities, and sales processes.
- Adopt AI-native approaches for account research, sales preparation, follow-up, call analysis, and workflow optimization.
- Share effective sales practices with teammates and contribute to improving the broader sales motion.
- Maintain strong customer relationships through the evaluation and transition process.
- 2+ years of experience carrying a quota in a full-cycle closing sales role within cybersecurity; endpoint security experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience as a hunter who can independently generate pipeline from cold accounts and outbound activity.
- Ability to clearly articulate outbound activity levels, self-sourced pipeline contribution, and quota attainment history.
- Experience selling to organizations with approximately 5,000 employees or fewer.
- Experience managing multi-stakeholder sales processes and customer evaluations with cycles measured in months rather than weeks.
- Proven ability to sell directly to security buyers and engage credibly with security practitioners.
- Strong discovery, consultative selling, negotiation, and closing capabilities.
- Ability to translate customer problems into compelling business cases and commercial opportunities.
- Strong pipeline discipline, follow-up habits, forecasting accuracy, and CRM hygiene.
- Comfortable working in a high-activity environment where personal initiative and consistent prospecting are essential.
- Coachable approach to selling, including willingness to participate in call reviews, pitch practice, and deal reviews.
- Demonstrated ability to learn from missed targets or unsuccessful deals and apply those lessons to future performance.
- Collaborative mindset with a willingness to share successful approaches, support teammates, and contribute to collective goals.
- Resilience and commitment developed through sustained participation in demanding team environments.
- Early-stage startup sales experience, particularly in environments where the sales playbook was still being developed, is a plus.
- Experience with structured sales methodologies and the ability to apply them thoughtfully is a plus.
- Partner or reseller sales experience alongside a direct sales motion is a plus.
- Previous experience progressing from a BDR or SDR role into a closing position is a plus.
- Genuine interest in applying AI tools and workflows to improve sales effectiveness is a plus.
- Remote work opportunities across North America, alongside roles available from an office environment.
- Meaningful equity in addition to base salary.
- 90% company-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage.
- 75% coverage for eligible dependents.
- Flexible paid time off.
- 12 weeks of fully paid maternity leave for birth, adoption, or foster placement.
- 8 weeks of fully paid paternity leave.
- $100 monthly lifestyle account for fitness, wellness, learning, and other eligible activities.
- $500 home office stipend for remote employees joining the organization.
- Commitment to a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace with support for reasonable accommodations throughout the hiring process.
