• Assemble by tack welding necessary steel components that make up stringers/stairs, canopies, built up columns and complex radius assemblies that require intricate layout
• Able to read and understand shop drawings and understand what material needs to be assembled and/or marked for prep
• Layout, clamp, hold, tack-weld, grind component parts to obtain required configurations and preparations for welding needs
• Mark all welding symbols and lengths of welds
• Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces to ensure conformance with specifications
• Assemble beams, columns, and railings
• Layout, cut, and prep material for assembly
• Follow all Safety Rules

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• GED/High School Diploma preferred
• 5+ years’ experience working in a structural and/or miscellaneous shop environment
• Understanding of fabrication, erection drawings, and WPS
• Competent with material rigging
• Proficient with torch
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Must know how to operate a grinder
• Availability to work overtime as needed
• Must be able to stand, twist, reach, and move around for long periods of time
• Must be able to use tap measure and knowledge of material types
• Math skills (geometry a plus)
• Must be certified in one of the four (GMAW, FCAW, FCAW-G, SMAW)
