Civil Engineer, Seattle, Washington, hybrid. Cushing Terrell is hiring a Civil Engineer to join our Seattle team in a hybrid role, combining in-office collaboration with the flexibility to work remotely. This position integrates document production with a deeper understanding of design and systems components across civil land development and water and wastewater design.
What does this role involve day to day? You will develop calculations, specifications, and site designs using three dimensional AutoCAD Civil 3D, while expanding your command of civil engineering codes and standards. Drainage and stormwater design experience specific to Western Washington is required, since you will apply that regional expertise across our Pacific Northwest projects.
What does success look like year one? A Civil Engineer at this level takes small to medium sized projects from conception to final design with minimal input from a senior engineer, building trusted client relationships along the way.
Position Salary Range*The expected salary range for this position is $95,000 to $105,000 annually.
Required Qualifications**- 6+ years of project experience working on projects within the US
- Mandatory experience with drainage and stormwater design in Western Washington
- ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) accredited degree in Civil Engineering
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, WaterCAD, Autodesk Storm and Sanitary Analysis, ArcGIS, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing
- Proven ability to apply civil engineering concepts to real world projects
- Professional Engineering License in Washington or another state, or equivalent experience

Position Responsibilities***- Prepare project plans, specifications, and calculations using AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office
- Collaborate across disciplines with architects, engineers, and business professionals, remotely and across office locations, to develop preliminary concepts and drawings
- Research applicable codes and jurisdictional requirements and complete cost estimates
- Build and maintain client relationships, participating in meetings to define project goals
- Draft technical memorandums and reports summarizing engineering analysis
- Conduct construction administration, including onsite field observation

Things to Note*Actual pay will be determined based on the candidate's years of experience, licensure status, location, level of proficiency, and other job-related factors (as permitted by law). This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus.
