Responsibilities:

  • Clean and restock washrooms, and clean offices, shared spaces, and the customer service area.
  • Sweep and mop floors, clean windows and glass, and wipe down surfaces and fixtures.
  • Empty garbage and recycling bins, replace liners, and keep disposal areas tidy.
  • Clean mattresses according to Encore’s procedures and prepare them for resale through the auction.
  • Keep building entrances clean and presentable.
  • Set out and serve coffee and donuts to staff on Fridays, and clean up afterward.
  • Monitor assigned areas throughout the day and address spills, messes, and other cleaning needs promptly.
  • Use cleaning products and equipment safely and report hazards, damage, or supply shortages to the Warehouse Manager.
  • Assist with other cleaning and warehouse support duties as assigned.
  • Assist with cleaning up messes made by animals in the dog-friendly office.

Candidate Requirements

  • No previous cleaning experience or formal training is required; training will be provided.
  • A good understanding of everyday cleanliness and the ability to recognize when an area needs attention.
  • Ability to communicate in English with coworkers and supervisors and understand cleaning and safety instructions.
  • Reliable attendance, clear communication, and a willingness to help where needed.
  • Ability to work at a steady pace, manage time well, and complete tasks efficiently without overlooking details.
  • Ability to lift and move supplies, garbage, mattresses, and other items required for the role.
Working Conditions

This is an active role in a warehouse and office environment. It involves standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and moving items throughout the shift. Safety footwear is required when working in the warehouse.
