Job Description

Every glulam beam and column we build is headed for a real project, with a customer counting on it to arrive on time. We're looking for an organized, steady problem-solver to keep that promise. You'll own each order from the moment sales hands it off to the moment it rolls out on a truck.

Duties

  • Plan, create and develop daily production schedules based on sales orders to ensure on-time delivery
  • Efficiently create production schedules to minimize changeovers and company costs
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to accommodate changes or unforeseen delays.
  • Resolve production and material shortage quickly in an order of priority
  • Inform sales of schedule impacts to customers
  • Maintain raw materials and finished goods inventory
  • Lumber buyer to ensure raw material supply
  • Collaborate with production on special orders
  • Plan production commitments for planning production lead times
  • Maintain files of raw materials used to forecast future raw material usage needs
  • Provide daily cut list of raw materials if needed
  • Arrange, schedule, and book trucks for customer delivery with expected delivery dates
  • Negotiate freight rates with carrier representatives
  • Coordinate inbound loads of treated material
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • High School or GED Diploma
  • Minimum 1 year of production planning of raw materials, production processes, and production scheduling
  • Strong production planning and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • The ability to multi-task and work under pressure
  • Detail oriented, highly organized, punctual, and reliable
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products
  • Knowledge of different species and sizes of lumber
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
