Job Description

Position: Electrical Designer

Experience: Min 5 years Industry: Oil & Gas / EPC/EPF

Location: Tyler, TX


Job Summary:

The Electrical Designer will be responsible for the complete electrical engineering design of Module packages, ensuring compliance with international codes and client specifications within given time frame. He / She will be expected to carry out 3D modeling, Various Kind of Electrical Layout. The role involves close coordination with multi-disciplinary teams, vendors, and construction teams to deliver safe, constructible, and cost-effective electrical systems for Oil & Gas and Petrochemical Complex Project. The Electrical Designer may also be required to produce 3D models and Layouts for specialized HV/MV/LV indoor and outdoor substations, PDC buildings, Generators, and Battery Energy Storage Systems.

Reports to: Lead Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities:

  In the role of Electrical Design Engineer, He / She will:

    Develop electrical design deliverables Such as Single Line Diagrams (SLD), Load lists and load calculations, Cable sizing and routing, Lighting and small power layouts, Earthing and lightning protection systems.Prepare electrical layouts and installation drawings for both general-purpose and hazardous area installations in accordance with applicable codes and project specifications.Prepare and review specifications, data sheets, and material requisitions for electrical equipment (MV/LV switchgear, transformers, motors, UPS, VFDs, lighting fixtures, etc.)Support electrical equipment selection and installation design in accordance with project specifications and applicable codes and standards.Ensure designs comply with international codes and standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, UL, IS, API)Coordinate with other disciplines (Process, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Civil) during design developmentSupport technical clarifications with vendors and review vendor drawings/documentsParticipate in HAZOP, design reviews, and model reviews as requiredProvide engineering support during construction, testing, and commissioning phasesEnsure adherence to project schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements
Required Qualifications:

    3–5 years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas, Distributed Generation or Microgrid power systems, or EPC projectsExperience across FEED, Detailed Engineering, and Execution phases
Technical Skills:

    Strong knowledge of Oil & Gas electrical systems and hazardous area classificationStrong Knowledge of HV/LV distribution systems and motor control philosophies
· Hands-on experience with:

    CAD/3D Modelling Tools like AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical / MicroStation / AVEVA E3D / PDMS, Hexagon Smart 3D, Smart Plant Electrical (SPEL),Navisworks (Advanced), Bluebeam (Intermediate), Microsoft Office Suite (Intermediate)
Soft Skills:

    Good communication and coordination skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionStrong analytical and problem-solving mindset.Team-oriented with attention to detail
