Utica Academy of Science Junior-Senior High School
SANY’s Utica Academy of Science Junior-Senior High School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Earth and Space Sciences Teacher for immediate hire.
We are looking for a dynamic educator who can bring Earth science, astronomy, geology, weather, climate, and the natural world to life for our students. This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced educators and talented new teachers looking to join a supportive, student-centered school community.

New York State Teacher Certification is required.
What You’ll DoAs an Earth and Space Sciences Teacher, you will:
- Create engaging, standards-aligned Earth and Space Sciences lessons that encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and scientific inquiry
- Provide hands-on and meaningful learning experiences for students
- Prepare students for applicable New York State assessments and academic requirements
- Demonstrate strong science content knowledge and effective instructional practices
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to improve student achievement
- Use student data and assessment results to guide instruction and identify areas for growth
- Maintain a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment
- Incorporate technology and innovative instructional strategies into daily teaching
- Build strong relationships with students and encourage them to see themselves as future scientists, researchers, engineers, and problem-solvers
- Participate actively in the professional and academic life of the school

Candidates should have:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
- New York State Teacher Certification
- Strong knowledge of Earth and Space Sciences and science pedagogy
- Ability to obtain fingerprint clearance through the New York State Education Department
- Prior teaching experience preferred, although new and early-career teachers are encouraged to apply
- Experience working with diverse student populations or in an urban educational environment is a plus
