Job Summary
GTS Transportation is seeking a motivated, high-energy Carrier Sales Representative to join our in-office team in Burr-Ridge, IL. This W2 position is ideal for a logistics professional with 1–3 years of experience looking to grow their career. You will utilize your industry knowledge to source trucking capacity, negotiate competitive freight rates, and ensure the safe, on-time delivery of shipments. Employment Type & Schedule: Full-time, W2, 100% in-office. Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CDT.
What You'll Do (Your Day-to-Day):
- Build Capacity: Actively phone source and recruit new trucking carriers while maintaining existing relationships to secure reliable freight capacity
- Bilingual Communication: Utilize English and Russian language skills to source, negotiate, and build rapport with a diverse pool of regional and national carriers
- Negotiate Rates: Buy transit capacity at competitive rates based on market trends, seasonal lane volatility, and historical data to protect profit margins
- Track & Trace: Monitor booked loads from dispatch to final delivery, providing proactive updates to internal operations teams
- Resolve Issues: Act quickly to solve basic transit challenges, mechanical breakdowns, or missed windows to minimize service disruptions
- Maintain System Accuracy: Update the Transportation Management System (TMS) in real-time with precise load status, carrier details, and pricing info
What You Bring to the Table:
- Experience: 1–3 years of direct experience in carrier sales, freight brokerage, or inside logistics sales (Required)
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (Required)
- Languages: Full professional fluency in both English and Russian (Preferred, but not required)
- Technical: Proficiency working within a Transportation Management System (TMS) and standard load boards (DAT, Truckstop)
- Work Style: Driven, self-motivated individual who excels under pressure and meets daily volume and call goals
Compensation
We offer a base salary of $50,000 – $65,000 per year, plus commission on top — because we believe your hard work should be rewarded. Final pay will reflect your experience, qualifications, and the skills you bring to the team.
