The ideal candidate will combine exceptional storytelling skills with experience in nonprofit, social impact, education, or philanthropic sectors.
You will collaborate with thought leaders, executives, and communications teams to transform insights, interviews, and research into compelling publications.
This position involves creating thought leadership content, case studies, annual reports, and strategic communications materials that inspire action and engagement.
You will help communicate complex social impact initiatives in a clear, accessible, and human-centered way.
This is a flexible remote contract opportunity for a skilled writer who enjoys storytelling, ghostwriting, and supporting purpose-driven organizations.
- Develop high-quality content for annual reports, organizational publications, and strategic communication initiatives.
- Create compelling case studies that highlight organizational impact, partner achievements, and success stories.
- Ghostwrite thought leadership articles and executive content based on interviews, briefs, and subject matter expert insights.
- Conduct interviews with internal stakeholders, nonprofit leaders, and partner organizations to gather meaningful perspectives.
- Translate complex nonprofit, youth development, education, and social impact topics into engaging and accessible content.
- Adapt writing style to reflect different contributor voices while maintaining consistency and authenticity.
- Collaborate with communications and leadership teams throughout the editorial development process.
- Incorporate feedback from stakeholders and editors while maintaining strong storytelling quality.
- Ensure all content aligns with brand guidelines, messaging objectives, and accuracy standards.
- Produce a range of deliverables, including thought leadership articles, website content, newsletters, executive communications, and social impact storytelling materials.
- Use AI tools thoughtfully for research, organization, and workflow efficiency while ensuring final content demonstrates strong editorial judgment and a human-centered approach.
- Demonstrated experience as a writer creating thought leadership content, strategic communications materials, case studies, reports, or similar publications.
- Background working with nonprofits, foundations, associations, community-focused organizations, or other mission-driven sectors.
- Strong understanding of youth development, education, philanthropy, fundraising, or nonprofit operations is preferred.
- Exceptional storytelling and interviewing skills, with the ability to transform conversations and insights into engaging written content.
- Experience writing content intended for public audiences, media placement, or executive visibility.
- Ability to adapt tone and style across multiple contributors and communication formats.
- Strong research, editing, and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience in strategic communications, public affairs, or similar fields is a plus.
- Familiarity with LinkedIn thought leadership programs and digital content strategies is preferred.
- Ability to deliver polished, publication-ready content while working independently in a remote environment.
- Competitive contract rate of $30–$35 per hour.
