As a Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include:

  • Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocate for your patients
  • Providing safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands on care grounded in strong clinical judgment
  • Serving as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions
  • Providing clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they feel informed, supported, and prepared for the next phase of care
  • Ensuring accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record to promote continuity and patient safety

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS certification. A degree in Nursing is required, prior patient care experience and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC is preferred.

About the Unit:

4 Heritage – Infectious Disease & Stroke Telemetry Unit

18-bed inpatient unit

4 Heritage is a specialized medical-surgical telemetry unit with a focus on infectious disease and stroke care. The unit provides care for patients requiring isolation precautions, treatment for acute and chronic infections, and administration of long-term intravenous antibiotic therapy.

Nurses receive enhanced education in stroke care, including NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification and advanced stroke competencies to care for patients recovering from acute cerebrovascular events. The team partners closely with physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and rehabilitation services to optimize patient recovery while continuing to provide comprehensive care for general medical-surgical and telemetry patients.

All registered nurses are trained in basic dysrhythmia recognition and continuous cardiac telemetry monitoring.
