Job Description

Position Summary

Prime Food Processing Corp is a growing Food Production Company seeking a dependable and safety-focused Warehouse Lead to support daily warehouse operations in a manufacturing facility. The Warehouse Lead serves as a hands-on working lead responsible for assisting with inventory movement, shipping and receiving, order fulfillment, equipment operation, 5S organization, food safety compliance, and team direction.

This position supports the Warehouse Supervisor and/or Warehouse Manager by helping ensure that warehouse associates are following procedures, meeting daily production and shipping needs, maintaining accurate inventory, and working safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong communication, attention to detail, teamwork, accountability, and a willingness to lead by example.

  • Lead daily warehouse activities and assist with assigning tasks to warehouse associates
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely
  • Support shipping, receiving, picking, packing, labeling, loading, and staging of product
  • Assist with inventory control, cycle counts, and reporting discrepancies
  • Help maintain warehouse organization, cleanliness, and 5S standards
  • Ensure compliance with safety, GMP, sanitation, food safety, and PPE requirements
  • Train and support warehouse associates on procedures and safe work practices
  • Report safety concerns, accidents, product damage, and equipment issues immediately
  • Support production and warehouse needs as assigned
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
  • Assist with maintaining warehouse organization and proper product rotation, including FIFO/FEFO practices where applicable.
  • Support warehouse and production teams as needed to meet business and customer needs.
  • Assist with receiving incoming shipments and verifying accuracy against packing slips, purchase orders, or system records.
  • Inspect incoming materials for quality, damage, labeling, and quantity discrepancies.
  • Report any shipment or inventory discrepancies to the Warehouse Supervisor or Warehouse Manager.
  • Verify outgoing shipments are properly packaged, labeled, staged, and documented.
  • Ensure orders are picked and packed according to customer requirements and company standards.
  • Communicate with warehouse leadership, production, quality, and other departments to support timely order fulfillment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Prior warehouse or manufacturing experience required
  • Prior forklift and pallet jack experience required
  • Lead or team leadership experience preferred
  • Good communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Basic computer and inventory system knowledge preferred
  • Ability to work overtime and flexible hours as needed

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, including shifts of 10 hours or more as needed.
  • Ability to frequently lift, move, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds in accordance with EH&S safety guidelines.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
  • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment and move throughout warehouse and manufacturing areas.
  • Ability to work in refrigerated environments and, on occasion, short periods in freezer areas.

Work Environment

This position works in a warehouse and food manufacturing setting. Required PPE must be worn at all times in designated areas.
