Precision Private Security is hiring professional and dependable Unarmed Courthouse Security Officers / Security Screeners for a courthouse security assignment in Tuolumne, CA.
This position is responsible for helping maintain the safety, security, and professional operation of a courthouse facility. Officers assigned to this post will screen individuals entering the courthouse, monitor for prohibited items, assist courthouse personnel and visitors, respond appropriately to incidents, and complete accurate documentation.
Courthouse security requires professionalism, patience, attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to remain calm in a public-facing environment. This is not a passive security post. Officers must be alert, respectful, consistent, and prepared to respond when needed.
Precision Private Security is looking for officers who take pride in their uniform, understand the importance of access control, follow written and verbal instructions, and represent the company and courthouse facility with professionalism.
Primary Responsibilities
•Screen individuals entering the courthouse for weapons, prohibited items, and other unauthorized or potentially dangerous items.
•Operate or assist with metal detectors, X-ray machines, handheld screening devices, access control systems, or other courthouse security equipment as assigned.
•Maintain a visible and professional security presence at screening points, entrances, lobbies, public areas, and assigned posts.
•Provide clear instructions to visitors regarding screening procedures, courthouse rules, and access requirements.
•Verify and assist with access control procedures for visitors, staff, vendors, and authorized personnel.
•Direct individuals to appropriate areas within the courthouse when appropriate.
•Monitor public and non-public areas, including entrances, hallways, parking areas, stairways, exterior areas, and other assigned locations.
•Observe and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, disturbances, property damage, policy violations, or security concerns.
•Respond quickly and professionally to emergency and non-emergency situations.
•Communicate with supervisors, courthouse staff, law enforcement, fire, emergency medical services, dispatch, or other authorized personnel when appropriate.
•Assist with evacuations or emergency procedures according to established protocols.
•Safely handle, document, and report prohibited items in accordance with post orders and client procedures.
•Monitor alarm systems, access control systems, security cameras, or other site security equipment if assigned.
•Patrol designated areas in accordance with courthouse security procedures.
•Write accurate, clear, professional, and complete incident reports, injury reports, event reports, and daily activity documentation.
•Maintain a positive working relationship with courthouse staff, visitors, clients, supervisors, and the public.
•Follow all post orders, courthouse rules, client requirements, company policies, and applicable laws.
•Perform other security-related duties as directed by a supervisor, security lead, or courthouse representative.
Minimum Requirements
•Must be at least 18 years old.
•High school diploma or GED preferred.
•Active California BSIS Guard Card required.
•Must provide a copy of current BSIS Guard Card.
•Must provide copies of all required training certificates.
•Must have completed BSIS-required training, including Power to Arrest and Appropriate Use of Force.
•Must have completed or be able to provide documentation of the required 32 hours of BSIS-mandated security officer training.
•Must complete annual continuing education/refresher training as applicable.
•Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certification required or must be obtained as required by assignment.
•Valid California identification card or valid driver’s license required.
•Reliable transportation required.
•Reliable means of communication required.
•Must pass background screening consistent with California employment law.
•Must pass pre-assignment screening requirements, which may include interview, drug/alcohol screening where lawful and applicable, and criminal background review.
•Must comply with company and client policies related to drugs, alcohol, tobacco, vaping, impairment, safety, confidentiality, reporting, uniforms, and professional conduct.
•Must be available to work Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.
•Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, carry items when needed, and remain alert for extended periods.
•Must communicate clearly and professionally with visitors, courthouse staff, supervisors, law enforcement, emergency responders, and the public.
•Must write accurate, factual, and legible reports.
•Must follow written and verbal instructions.
•Must remain level-headed and respond appropriately in stressful or fast-moving situations.

•Experience working around the public in a professional environment.
•Strong report-writing skills.
•De-escalation or conflict-resolution experience.
•First Aid, CPR, and AED certification already current.
•Current BSIS Baton Permit.
•OC spray certification.
•Prior military, law enforcement, corrections, public safety, or first responder experience.
•Bilingual ability, especially English/Spanish.
•Strong attendance history and reliability.
•Professional appearance and strong customer-service mindset.
•Ability to remain calm, respectful, and composed in high-stress situations.
