POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for efficiently and accurately producing flatbread or cookie dough. This requires working together with other mixing and manufacturing team members to ensure optimum efficiency and promptly reporting any concerns. Must be trained in all GMP and Food Safety protocols. Knowledge of equipment operations and safety protocols is required. Regularly scheduled hours will be 9:00pm or 10:00pm to 5:30 or 6:30am, Sunday through Thursday (and Friday during busy season, the 6th day will qualify for overtime). All third shift positions earn an extra $1.00/hour in addition to the base rate.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accurately follow a batch-sheet/recipe for all dough. Develop mixes paying close attention to time, temperature, and exceptions to formulas.
- Accurately measure and weigh ingredients.
- Combine all ingredients in proper sequence. Sign off that each ingredient has been added and processed for the correct amount of time as outlined in the mixing system (WIP/Formula Sheet).
- Follow a strict timeline to ensure the freshest product.
- Visually inspect mixes for quality, quantity, and appearance.
- Operate commercial grade equipment and machinery in a safe and efficient manner. Perform minor equipment changeovers as required.
- Routinely clean the equipment and perform basic maintenance. Report any equipment issues to the supervisor in a timely manner.
- Complete batching and traceability paperwork as required for food safety procedures. Accurately record lot codes.
- Train and mentor the Assistant Mixer.
- Understand and follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Maintain a positive demeanor toward all coworkers and supervisors.
- Understand and adheres to all Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP), food safety and sanitation standards.
- Perform other related duties as required.
SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS
- Able to follow oral and written instruction.
- Ability to complete tasks with accuracy.
- Able to consistently follow all safety requirements.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- Shows good judgment, sound reasoning, and good decision-making skills
- Good team building and training abilities; Strong motivational skills.
- Ability to use a calculator to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Must be able to accurately record results.
- Organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work Sunday through Thursdays (and Fridays during the busy season), overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing facility required.
