Job Description: Security Supervisor
Location: 13520 Mercury Drive, Laredo, TX
Department: Cross-dock Job Status: Full-Time Reports to: Shift Supervisor
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for overseeing all security operations at the facility, including supervising security personnel, enforcing company security protocols, maintaining CTPAT compliance, controlling site access, conducting investigations, and ensuring the safety and security of team members, visitors, equipment, and company assets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of security personnel.
- Schedule, train, coach, and evaluate security team members.
- Ensure compliance with all company security policies, procedures, and CTPAT requirements.
- Monitor and authorize entry and exit of employees, carriers, vendors, and visitors.
- Investigate security incidents, policy violations, accidents, theft, and suspicious activities.
- Conduct facility, yard, trailer, and perimeter security inspections.
- Review and maintain security logs, reports, and documentation.
- Create and audit EOS reports and other required security documentation.
- Communicate security concerns and operational updates to management.
- Lead security meetings and provide ongoing training to team members.
- Coordinate emergency response procedures and assist during emergency situations.
- Maintain radio communication with dispatch and operations personnel regarding arriving and departing loads.
- Monitor surveillance systems and security equipment, reporting deficiencies as needed.
- Ensure proper implementation of access control procedures.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly security reports.
- Assist management in developing and implementing security improvement initiatives.
- Recommend corrective actions to address security vulnerabilities.
- Ensure compliance with PPE and facility safety requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or GED required.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 2 years of security experience required.
- Previous supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
- Experience in warehouse, transportation, logistics, or distribution environments preferred.
- Experience with CTPAT security requirements preferred.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to learn and utilize security management systems, access control software, and reporting platforms.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as business needs require.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Ability to walk the facility, yard, and perimeter for extended periods.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varied weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to respond quickly to emergency situations.
