About the Role:

The YR-M.O.S.T Program Aide plays a vital role in supporting the successful implementation and operation of youth-related programs within the community. This position focuses on assisting program coordinators in delivering educational, recreational, and developmental activities that promote positive youth engagement and growth. The aide will work closely with participants to provide guidance, encouragement, and support, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment. Additionally, the role involves administrative tasks such as record-keeping, scheduling, and communication with stakeholders to maintain program efficiency. Ultimately, the Program Aide contributes to fostering a nurturing atmosphere that empowers young individuals to achieve their personal and educational goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with youth in educational, recreational, or community settings.
  • Basic proficiency in using computers and common office software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to pass background checks and comply with organizational policies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary coursework or certification in education, social work, or related fields.
  • Experience with program planning and implementation.
  • Knowledge of youth development principles and community resources.
  • First aid and CPR certification.
  • Bilingual abilities or experience working with diverse populations.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and facilitating youth program activities that align with organizational goals.
  • Provide direct support and supervision to program participants during sessions and events.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and incidents, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with policies.
  • Communicate effectively with program coordinators, participants, families, and community partners to support program delivery.
  • Help prepare materials and resources needed for program activities and events.
  • Support the enforcement of program rules and safety protocols to create a secure environment.
  • Participate in training sessions and team meetings to stay informed about program updates and best practices.

Skills:

The required skills such as communication and interpersonal abilities are essential for engaging effectively with youth, families, and team members, ensuring clear and supportive interactions. Organizational skills are used daily to manage schedules, maintain accurate records, and prepare materials that facilitate smooth program operations. Computer proficiency supports administrative tasks including data entry, email correspondence, and documentation. Preferred skills like knowledge of youth development and bilingual capabilities enhance the aide’s ability to address diverse participant needs and contribute to more inclusive programming.
