SCHEDULE
Saturdays and Sundays, every other weekend
Saturday: 6pm-11pm
Sunday: 5pm-10pm
POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the Housekeeping Supervisor, the Weekend Custodial Staff member is responsible for supporting facility operations at the Meyer Center. This position works on Saturdays and Sundays, averaging approximately 10 hours every other weekend. Saturday 6 pm-11 pm and Sunday 5 pm- 10 pm. This position helps maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment during weekend hours, ensuring a professional, respectful, and positive atmosphere for all members, participants, and guests.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform routine custodial and floor care duties at the Meyer Center, with a primary emphasis on floor maintenance. Experience operating commercial carpet extractors and floor scrubbers is preferred.
- Ensure YMCA facilities and property remain secure during weekend shifts, promptly reporting any incidents, safety concerns, or hazardous conditions to the appropriate supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and welcoming environment throughout the Meyer Center by performing duties including, but not limited to, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, restroom cleaning, and trash removal.
- Safely lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds and successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination.
- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the operations and mission of the YMCA.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Six months or more related experience is preferred
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
- Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals as well as their safe and efficient uses.
- CPR/First Aid certification or obtain within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups and social and economic segments of the community.
- Excellent judgment and decision-making skills
- Must be able to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday), approximately 12 hours a weekend.

- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, twisting, and climbing stairs.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to safely operate custodial equipment, including commercial floor scrubbers, carpet extractors, vacuums, and other cleaning tools.
- Ability to push and maneuver custodial carts, equipment, and supplies throughout the facility.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate cleaning equipment and handle custodial tools and supplies.
- Visual ability to identify cleaning needs, safety hazards, and maintenance concerns.
- Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination.
