University Physicians' Association, Inc. is currently looking for a part-time Dental Assistant at the Kim Health Center.
Job Type: Part-time 3 days a week- Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday with potential to grow if desired.
Join our amazing clinic serving underserved populations. The Dental Assistant will be working one on one with a DDS and responsible for general clinic dental maintenance, dental administrative work, and providing primary chair side assistance to the Dentist. The Dental Assistant’s key responsibilities will be preparing the examination rooms, sterilization of instruments, ensuring all necessary equipment is ready, and assisting with labs and x-rays as needed. Experience anticipating dental needs throughout the appointment a must. Experience with Open Dental software a plus. The Dental Assistant at times will support patients check in and check out. Great environment doing what dentistry is meant to do-help patient be healthy.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
- Update and maintain client’s dental records
- Proficient and Compliant on HIPPA
- Perform routine dental cleanings
- Assist the dentist with complex dental procedures
- Take and process X-rays of patients
- Schedule patient appointments
- Advise patients on recommended oral hygiene
- Assess stock of dental supplies for ordering
- Educate patients on procedures
- Be organized
- Familiarity with Open Dental a plus but not required
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus but not required
Candidate must have a heart for public health and at least two years relevant experience, good references and be licensed and /or certified to perform said duties.
