Consultant Functional, Reporting, & Operations Support (Workday Financials)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Consultant – Functional, Reporting, & Operations Support (Workday Financials) based in United States.

The Consultant will support Workday Financials delivery across reporting, configuration, data preparation, testing, documentation, and operational activities. This role offers hands-on exposure to enterprise finance technology while working alongside experienced functional and technical specialists. You will help translate business requirements into reliable Workday solutions and contribute to implementation and ongoing support activities. The position combines analytical problem-solving with practical system configuration, data management, and client collaboration. You will work across project workstreams while developing deeper expertise in Workday Financials and related business processes. It is a strong opportunity for an early-career consultant looking to build specialized Workday capabilities in a dynamic, client-focused environment

Accountabilities:
  • Build and maintain Workday reports, including Advanced, Matrix, and Composite reports, and develop calculated fields based on defined business and functional specifications.
  • Support the configuration of standard business processes, notifications, and other baseline Workday functional components under the direction of experienced functional leads.
  • Prepare data-loading templates, validate legacy data formats, support data cleansing and mapping, and assist with data loading, reconciliation, and validation activities.
  • Develop and execute test scripts, document test results, log defects, and support retesting and validation across assigned functional areas.
  • Maintain configuration workbooks, requirements documentation, process materials, test evidence, and other project and implementation artifacts with a high level of accuracy.
  • Participate in project meetings and working sessions, follow up on assigned actions, and provide support across functional, reporting, data, and operational delivery activities.
  • Build and expand Workday Financials expertise through hands-on project delivery, formal training, certification, coaching, and continuous professional development.
  • Contribute to successful client engagements by maintaining organized workstreams, communicating progress clearly, and supporting functional and technical leads with timely delivery.
Requirements:
  • Bring 1–3 years of Workday-related experience or relevant experience working with enterprise finance systems.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical, Excel, data-management, documentation, and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to work accurately across complex information.
  • Have a strong interest in finance technology and the ability to learn Workday concepts, business processes, and configuration practices quickly.
  • Possess excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively with functional and technical teams, participate effectively in client-facing working sessions, and manage assigned responsibilities reliably.
  • Workday certifications in Reporting, Financials for Administrators, Banking & Settlement, or other relevant areas are preferred.
  • Be willing to pursue and maintain Workday certifications aligned with assigned responsibilities and long-term career progression.
  • Be comfortable working primarily remotely while traveling occasionally to client sites or offices when required for project needs, implementation milestones, or team collaboration.
Benefits:
  • Estimated salary range of $85,000–$105,000 USD, with compensation determined based on factors such as skills, experience, training, licensure, and certifications.
