Summary Statement

The Associate Director of Corporate Partnerships is a key member of the Development team responsible for developing and growing strategic corporate relationships that advance the organization's mission and generate philanthropic support. This role leads corporate partnership strategy, expands the organization's network of business and community partners, and creates meaningful opportunities for companies to engage through sponsorships, employee involvement, workplace giving, volunteerism, and mission-based initiatives.

The Associate Director of Corporate Partnerships cultivates, solicits, and stewards relationships with local, regional, and national companies while developing long-term partnerships that provide mutual value and measurable mission impact. The ideal candidate is a strategic, highly collaborative relationship builder who can engage corporate decision-makers, develop customized partnership opportunities, and strengthen the organization's visibility and support within the business community.


Responsibilities


Corporate Partnership Development

  • Cultivate, steward, and expand relationships with corporations, local businesses, chambers of commerce, business associations, civic leaders, and other mission-aligned organizations.
  • Develop corporate engagement strategies that increase awareness of the organization's mission and create pathways for companies and their employees to participate as sponsors, donors, volunteers, advocates, and event participants.
  • Represent the organization at corporate meetings, networking events, chambers, business associations, partner events, and community forums to build relationships and increase organizational visibility.
  • Identify new corporate partnership opportunities, collaborative programs, sponsorship activations, and mission-based initiatives that deepen engagement and broaden the organization's reach.
  • Create partnership presentations, engagement plans, and stewardship strategies that align corporate partners with organizational priorities and fundraising goals.

Corporate Sponsorships & Revenue Growth

  • Lead the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of corporate sponsors for organizational events, programs, and mission-based initiatives.
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of prospective corporate partners, including local businesses, regional companies, national brands, and corporate foundations with strong mission alignment.
  • Develop customized sponsorship proposals, partnership packages, and presentations that clearly communicate mission impact, visibility, benefits, and opportunities for employee and community engagement.
  • Manage corporate relationships throughout the full partnership cycle, including prospecting, cultivation, proposal development, solicitation, activation, recognition, fulfillment, renewal, and long-term stewardship.
  • Partner with corporate contacts and internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for employee engagement, workplace giving, volunteer participation, cause marketing, event sponsorship, and other customized collaborations.
  • Oversee sponsorship benefits and deliverables to ensure accurate, timely fulfillment while maintaining a high level of partner service, communication, and stewardship.

Leadership & Cross-Department Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Development, and Marketing to develop cohesive corporate partnership strategies, sponsor communications, recognition plans, and engagement opportunities.
  • Help shape annual corporate partnership strategy, and sponsorship revenue goals.
  • Maintain accurate corporate partnership and sponsorship activity in Matchquest, including prospect research, contacts, proposals, commitments, stewardship, and next steps.
  • Prepare corporate partnership updates, sponsorship reports, pipeline summaries, and relationship briefings.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Marketing, Public Affairs, Business, or related field - or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in nonprofit fundraising, corporate partnerships, sponsorship development, business development, or relationship management.
  • Demonstrated success identifying, cultivating, soliciting, closing, and stewarding corporate sponsors and strategic partners.
  • Strong relationship-building, networking, and consultative sales skills with the ability to engage corporate executives, business leaders, volunteers, and diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience developing and presenting sponsorship proposals, partnership packages, and customized corporate engagement opportunities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Canva, with prior experience using CRM systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, negotiation, relationship management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage a portfolio of corporate relationships, multiple sponsorship opportunities, and partner deliverables while maintaining strong attention to detail and follow-through.

Work Environment

  • Onsite schedule based on organizational needs.
  • Some evening and weekend hours are required for corporate meetings, networking events, fundraisers, sponsor activations, and partner activities.
  • Travel as needed.

Physical Demands

This position is basically sedentary with some walking, standing, stooping and lifting required. May lift objects weighing from 0 to 40 lbs. with occasional lifting of objects over 40 lbs. Travel is required.
