Electronic Payments is an industry leader in developing and delivering innovative payment processing and point of sale (POS) solutions to companies nationwide. With offices in both NY and FL, we are currently seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our growing team in our Calverton office.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced team player, who is able to multi-task, and communicate effectively with internal and external partners. To be successful in this position, one must be able remain organized and goal oriented. The majority of time will be spent underwriting prospective clients and their free time would be assisting the department with various tasks. Verbal and written communication is important to this role as there will be heavy contact with Sales Partners in order to discuss what is specifically needed for each account.

Job Responsibilities

-Performs credit analysis and underwriting activities, evaluating financial position and credit worthiness, for prospective commercial/merchant portfolio accounts

-Reviews credit history to assess credit worthiness of new prospective clients

-Ensures a balanced risk and revenue trade off consistent with credit policy and loss target expectations

-Maintain current knowledge of industry and professional topics by attending relevant training sessions

-Investigations include the gathering of data from various sources & systems interpreting the data

-Identify trends in processing, read consumer credit reports as well as credit reports on businesses and complete risk assessments and financial analysis

-Ability to understand and apply risk management concepts; collect and analyze exposure and loss data, respond

Job Requirements

-Candidates must demonstrate an understanding of basic underwriting practices.

-Respond efficiently and effectively to internal and external requests.

-Requires good communication (written and verbal)

-Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

-Highly organized and have the ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple responsibilities effectively without losing attention to detail.
