Job Description

JOB TITLE: Receiving/Processing Associate

EMPLOYER: Sherwood Lumber Corporation

DEPARTMENT: Operations

REPORTS TO: Operations Supervisor

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for receiving, organizing, and processing all incoming product and returns, ensuring shipments are accurately verified and efficiently moved into inventory in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receives incoming products and verifies accuracy of shipments against Bills of Lading (BOLs).
  • Offloads inbound trailers and returns on a daily basis.
  • Inspects and sorts product based on quality and condition.
  • Organizes and puts away product in designated storage areas in a timely manner.
  • Processes returns and exchanges according to company policies.
  • Restocks picking locations in the warehouse to ensure product is ready to be pulled.
  • Rotates date-sensitive product to ensure FIFO (first in, first out).
  • Assists in maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Assists with other items and tasks as needed, including helping to pull daily orders.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED, six months to one year related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certificates, licenses and registrations required:
    • Fork-Lift Certificate.
  • Computer skills required: Time & Labor Management System; and Electronic Mail Software (Outlook).
  • Other skills required:
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
    • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to work closely with peers on team orientated goals.
    • Ability to follow company directives and instruction.
    • In-depth knowledge of vehicle diagnostic equipment and mechanical systems.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Continually required to sit.
  • Frequently required to stand and/or walk.
  • Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl.
  • Occasionally exposed to the following outside weather conditions: extreme heat and/or cold, wet and/or humid.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specialized equipment, machines, or vehicles used: Fork-Lift.
