About the Role:
The Member Service Officer plays a critical role in fostering positive relationships between the credit union and its members by delivering exceptional customer service and support at our branches. This position is responsible for addressing member inquiries, resolving issues efficiently, and ensuring a seamless experience that promotes member satisfaction and loyalty. The role requires a thorough understanding of the organization's products, services, and policies to provide accurate information and guidance. The Member Service Officer will collaborate with various internal departments to facilitate member requests and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. This position focuses on enhancing member engagement and retention through professional, courteous, and timely service.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in a customer service or member support role.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Basic computer proficiency, including experience with CRM software or similar systems.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and maintain attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, or a related field.
- Experience working in a financial institution, credit union, or membership-based organization.
- Familiarity with industry-specific software and databases.
- Bilingual abilities or proficiency in a second language.
- Conflict resolution and problem-solving training or certification.
Responsibilities:
- Respond promptly and professionally to member inquiries via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
- Assist members with account management, including updates, transactions, and service requests.
- Identify and resolve member issues or escalate complex cases to appropriate departments.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of member interactions and transactions.
- Provide members with information about products, services, policies, and procedures.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to improve service delivery and member satisfaction.
- Participate in training sessions to stay current on organizational updates and service protocols.
