PCR promotes community economic development through financial, educational, and advisory services for underserved small businesses and communities.

Summary

The Senior Loan Servicing Specialist independently administers and monitors PCR’s small business direct loan portfolio and supports servicing requirements for government-supported and guaranteed loans. The position handles complex servicing matters, borrower follow-up, delinquency and workout support, collateral monitoring, and accurate portfolio reporting. The Specialist works with Lending, Accounting, Compliance, legal counsel, and outside parties to resolve exceptions and protect PCR’s interests in accordance with loan documents, program requirements, and approved policies.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the accuracy of loan boarding and ongoing servicing records, including terms, balances, payment schedules, maturities, borrower and guarantor information, and supporting documents.

• Monitor payments, research discrepancies and returned items, prepare payoff statements and payment histories, and coordinate reconciliations with Accounting.

• Serve as a primary contact for assigned borrowers after closing; respond to complex servicing inquiries and document material communications and actions.

• Track maturities, insurance, collateral, financial reporting covenants, and other post-closing requirements; follow up on exceptions and escalate significant risks.

• Prepare and process approved extensions, modifications, deferments, repayment arrangements, releases, and other servicing transactions; verify required approvals and documentation before implementation.

• Lead routine collection follow-up for assigned delinquent loans, assess borrower circumstances, recommend next steps, and maintain complete collection records and ticklers.

• Coordinate problem loan monitoring, workouts, collateral recovery, liquidations, charge-offs, and guarantee-related claims or submissions under management direction.

• Monitor security interests and collateral records, including UCC continuations, vehicle liens, insurance, and authorized lien releases; coordinate with Closing and outside vendors as needed.

• Prepare and analyze delinquency, maturity, collection, servicing, and portfolio reports; identify trends, data issues, and accounts requiring management review.

• Support servicing and reporting for PCR direct loans and revolving loan funds; assemble accurate documentation for funding sources, audits, compliance reviews.

• Review complex servicing exceptions and recommend process improvements; provide technical guidance and backup support to less experienced servicing staff.

• Participate in servicing and portfolio review meetings, safeguard confidential borrower information, and perform related duties and special projects as assigned.

Position Requirements:

Qualifications

• Four or more years of progressively responsible experience in commercial or small business loan servicing, loan administration, collections, or a related lending function preferred.

• Experience handling delinquent loans, modifications, collateral monitoring, and portfolio reporting.

• Strong knowledge of loan terms, amortization, payments, payoffs, maturities, security interests, and servicing documentation.

• Ability to analyze servicing data, identify exceptions and credit concerns, make sound recommendations, and manage competing deadlines with limited supervision.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel.

Preferred

  • CDFI, nonprofit, SBA, FDC, or government-supported lending experience desirable.
  • Experience with loan servicing, loan origination, or CRM systems preferred.
  • Clear written and verbal communication and sound judgment in working with borrowers experiencing financial difficulties.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, follow-up requirements, and deadlines.
