Job Description
CrossRoad Engineers, PC is looking to expand its team. We are looking for a Plan Reviewer to assist in the review of civil engineering construction drawings and hydraulic analysis reports as they pertain to projects prepared by outside engineering firms and submitted for approvals to surrounding local municipalities.
Plan Reviewer Responsibilities and Duties
- Conduct review of construction standards and drainage calculations based on the respective municipality’s codes and ordinances, identifying and commenting on deficiencies. Correspondence and recommendations should be presented following established guidelines (procedural, technical, quality, timeliness).
- Comprehensively review and thoroughly understand the standards and guidelines set forth in the municipality’s codes and ordinances, and as needed, communicate clearly and effectively with the officials of the respective municipality to develop a complete understanding of specific project requirements.
- Review, both electronically and hard copy, plan and report information, consult with designing engineers to explain deficiencies and influence changes, and obtain missing/corrected information to ensure timely completion of the reviews.
- Attend regularly scheduled meetings as necessary, representing the municipality in the presentation of the completed review.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience Requirements:
- B.S. in Civil Engineering with 0-2+ years of experience in reading/understanding technical drainage reports, civil construction drawings and specifications (EIT certification preferred), OR
o 5+ years of relevant experience in reading/understanding technical drainage reports, civil construction drawings and specifications
- B.S. in Civil Engineering with 0-2+ years of experience in reading/understanding technical drainage reports, civil construction drawings and specifications (EIT certification preferred), OR
- Project and design experience in civil engineering projects preferred
- Effective and professional written and oral communication skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical skills with sound foundation in civil engineering techniques and skills, logical application, and attention to detail
- Strong planning, organization, and time management skills
