Field Merchandiser

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Field Merchandiser based in United States.

The Field Merchandiser supports retail locations by creating organized, attractive, and customer-focused shopping environments.
This role works closely with merchandising teams to execute store layouts, product placement, and shelving according to established standards.
The position combines independent field work with collaborative project execution and regular communication with project leadership.
A strong eye for detail and knowledge of planograms and retail merchandising are essential to maintaining consistent store presentation.
The role is highly mobile, with approximately 80% domestic travel by air and ground and frequent overnight stays.
When not traveling, the Field Merchandiser works from a local retail location and remains focused on timely, high-quality execution.
Success requires reliability, professionalism, physical stamina, adaptability, and a positive approach to working with store personnel and customers.

Accountabilities:
  • Collaborate with the merchandising team to achieve shared project goals while independently managing assigned field activities and deadlines.
  • Ensure retail locations consistently follow established merchandising standards and execute store layouts according to floor plans and planograms.
  • Merchandise products and shelving systems accurately, while developing practical and innovative merchandising approaches that improve the customer shopping experience.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager, providing updates and supporting the successful completion of assigned merchandising initiatives.
  • Pull buyback products from shelves and accurately document activity to ensure inventory records remain current and reliable.
  • Travel domestically by air and ground approximately 80% of the time, including overnight and occasional weekend travel, and work from a local retail location when not traveling.
  • Perform frequent physical activities, including lifting, reaching overhead, moving products, and repositioning merchandise throughout retail environments.
  • Maintain a professional, courteous, dependable, and positive attitude while interacting with customers, store personnel, and internal teams.
  • Follow workplace safety requirements, organizational policies, standards, and other reasonable duties or responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
  • 1–3 years of professional merchandising experience, with 1–3 years of retail experience preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience with retail inventory control preferred, along with demonstrated experience working with planograms.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, problem-solving ability, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Positive work ethic, dependability, adaptability, and the ability to consistently meet deadlines and quality expectations.
  • Comfortable communicating and interacting professionally with the public, store personnel, project leadership, and other stakeholders.
  • Computer literacy and access to a computer, internet connection, and printer; a company-provided laptop is available for the role.
  • Familiarity with ERP platforms and inventory control systems is preferred.
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to travel domestically up to 80% of the time, with overnight and occasional weekend travel expected.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a courteous, polished, and professional approach.
  • Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position, including lifting, reaching, and moving products within retail environments.
