This is a flexible, part-time contract position requiring approximately 15–20 hours per week.

Accountabilities:

  • Maintain high data integrity through meticulous documentation, accurate note-taking, and error-free data entry across multiple systems.
  • Distinguish between value-based care and fee-for-service claims based on applicable payer agreements and billing requirements.
  • Prepare ad hoc billing and operational reports to support internal teams and decision-making.
  • Review provider documentation to verify coding accuracy and identify potential discrepancies or missing information.

Requirements:
  • You have 2–5 years of experience in medical billing, including at least one year of experience with Medicaid billing.
  • You are proficient with multiple EHR systems, such as Tebra, athenaOne, or eClinicalWorks, and are comfortable adapting to different platforms.
  • You have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe tools, including Excel, Word, and Acrobat, as well as Google Workspace tools such as Sheets and Docs.
  • You are proactive in identifying missing payer information and capable of bridging data gaps through careful research and follow-up.
  • You demonstrate a high level of integrity, attention to detail, organization, and adaptability when working with different state-specific billing guidelines.
  • You communicate effectively and enjoy collaborating with medical, technology, and operations teams.
  • You are receptive to constructive feedback and willing to provide thoughtful input that can improve operational processes.
  • Familiarity with Texas-specific payers and billing guidelines is preferred.
  • Experience with healthcare technology organizations, value-based care contracts, or maternal, nutritional, and/or behavioral health is a plus.
Benefits:
  • The position offers compensation of $24–$32 per hour.
  • The role requires a variable commitment of approximately 15–20 hours per week.
  • You will gain hands-on experience across medical billing, payer processes, EHR systems, and value-based care operations.
  • The role provides opportunities to collaborate with cross-functional medical, technology, billing, and operations teams.
  • The position offers exposure to healthcare technology and operational process improvement in a flexible contract environment.
