Job Description
Description:
Tunkhannock Ford is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and vehicles. This is a hands-on position that requires strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills. Job Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic tests on diesel vehicles using specialized tools and equipment.
- Identify and repair issues with engine, transmission, brakes, steering, suspension, and other mechanical systems.
- Replace defective parts as necessary.
- Perform oil checks, tire rotations, alignment, and brake checks.
- Maintain accurate records of services, parts, and inventory.
- Communicate with customers and managers on repair orders.
- Maintain work area clean and organized.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel engines and vehicles
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Certification in Automotive or Diesel Technology preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of diesel automotive experience
- Knowledge of diesel engine components and systems
- Ability to read and interpret manuals.
- Proficient in using diagnostic software, tools, and equipment.
- Ability to move and lift heavy objects or equipment.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
- ASE Diesel Certification preferred.
- State and emissions certification preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License
