Job Description

Description:

Department: Product

Reports to: Director of Product

Employment Type: Full-Time, Salaried Exempt

Bonus: Eligible

Target Start Date: Q4 2026

Robert Dietrick Company (RDC) is seeking a strategic, customer-focused Warehouse Solutions Manager to lead and grow our Warehouse Solutions business unit.

This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who can connect the needs of warehouse operations with practical, profitable material-handling solutions. You will lead a growing team, develop vendor and installation-partner relationships, support complex customer opportunities, and build scalable processes that take projects from concept through installation.

The ideal candidate combines sales acumen, project-management discipline, technical product knowledge, and a decisive leadership style. You enjoy solving difficult customer problems, developing people, creating new market opportunities, and improving how work gets done.

What You’ll Do

Lead the Warehouse Solutions Business

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Warehouse Solutions team through regular meetings, performance feedback, training, and accountability.
  • Partner with the Director of Product and Director of Sales to establish annual sales, revenue, gross-profit, and performance goals.
  • Develop and execute a long-term growth strategy for RDC’s Warehouse Solutions business.
  • Own business-unit forecasting, performance reporting, commission reporting, and pipeline visibility.
  • Build repeatable team processes that support sustainable growth and reduce reliance on any one individual.

Grow Customer and Market Opportunities

  • Identify new markets, product categories, strategic partnerships, and service opportunities.
  • Collaborate with RDC sales representatives on complex opportunities and strategic accounts.
  • Develop lasting relationships with customers, manufacturers, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and installation partners.
  • Build and maintain a qualified opportunity pipeline while improving win/loss analysis and forecasting accuracy.
  • Establish pricing, margin, manufacturer, and subcontractor strategies that strengthen competitiveness and profitability.
  • Participate in customer presentations, site assessments, solution development, proposal reviews, and negotiations.
  • Create practical sales tools that help RDC representatives identify, qualify, and advance Warehouse Solutions opportunities.

Manage Products, Vendors, and Projects

  • Evaluate, onboard, and manage Warehouse Solutions vendors, manufacturers, subcontractors, and installation partners.
  • Develop preferred-vendor relationships and maintain a strong, relevant portfolio of warehouse solutions.
  • Support quoting, estimating, project scoping, warehouse layouts, implementation planning, and complex project execution.
  • Help ensure smooth transitions between Sales, Product, Operations, Service, subcontractors, and installation teams.
  • Establish clear procedures for engineering requirements, permitting, compliance, change orders, installation quality, warranty responsibilities, and project closeout.
  • Identify project risks early, develop appropriate mitigation plans, and conduct post-project reviews to improve future outcomes.
  • Evaluate project profitability and identify opportunities to improve financial performance.

Build Scalable Operations and Market Presence

  • Maintain accurate CRM data, opportunity reporting, and forecasting.
  • Standardize workflows for inspections, permitting, quoting, project execution, and installation.
  • Improve documentation, internal communication, and cross-functional accountability.
  • Partner with Marketing on educational content, case studies, videos, product-catalog materials, and website content.
  • Research warehouse, industrial safety, material-handling, and related technology trends.
  • Lead new service-development initiatives, including RDC’s rack inspection program.

What Success Looks Like

During the first 12 months, the Warehouse Solutions Manager will be expected to help RDC:

  • Develop a three-year Warehouse Solutions growth strategy and establish annual revenue and gross-profit targets.
  • Expand the Warehouse Solutions manufacturer and partner portfolio.
  • Finalize and launch RDC’s digital rack inspection platform and related service offering.
  • Build the go-to-market strategy, training materials, and marketing collateral for rack inspections.
  • Participate in hiring and onboarding a Rack Inspection Specialist.
  • Establish team operating procedures, recurring meetings, and performance metrics.
  • Implement a standardized permitting process and project workflow from opportunity through installation.
  • Improve CRM reporting, pipeline visibility, and forecasting accuracy.

Benefits and Programs

In addition to a competitive compensation package and bonus eligibility, this role participates in RDC’s:

  • Vehicle Fleet and Fuel Program
  • Wireless Device and Network Program

If you are energized by building teams, developing new business opportunities, and helping customers create safer, more productive warehouse operations, we encourage you to apply.

Requirements:

What You Bring

  • Strong ability to communicate effectively with customers, manufacturers, vendors, subcontractors, sales teams, and internal operations partners.
  • Experience balancing business development with product implementation, project execution, and customer service.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, including coaching, mentoring, performance management, and team development.
  • Strong analytical, financial, negotiation, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing multiple vendors, customer opportunities, and projects at the same time.
  • Ability to make timely, informed decisions even when all information is not available.
  • Ability to read and interpret facility drawings, warehouse layouts, specifications, and related project documentation.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms and business tools, including Microsoft 365, Excel, Salesforce, ServiceMax, and Teams.
  • Strong organization and time-management skills, including the ability to work effectively while traveling.
  • Curiosity and a commitment to continuous learning in warehouse operations, industrial safety, and material-handling technologies.
  • Ability to travel throughout RDC territories, including occasional overnight travel.
  • Ability to work effectively from an RDC office or home office.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Industrial Distribution, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Five or more years of experience in industrial sales, material handling, warehouse systems, capital equipment, or project management.
  • Previous people-leadership or team-management experience.
  • Experience building or significantly growing a product line, territory, business unit, or new market.
  • Experience with warehouse racking, mezzanines, dock equipment, conveyors, safety systems, or industrial facility improvements.
  • Experience managing capital-equipment projects from opportunity development through implementation.
