Description:

Classic Rock is seeking an organized and motivated Assistant Project Manager to support customer projects from order placement through completion. Working under the guidance of experienced Project Managers and operational leaders, this position assists with project coordination, customer communication, scheduling, documentation, and order follow-up.

The Assistant Project Manager works closely with customers, Sales, Order Entry, Estimating, Production, Logistics, Supply Chain, and Customer Service to help ensure materials are accurate, available, and delivered according to project requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, comfortable managing multiple priorities, and interested in developing a career in project management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with managing assigned customer projects from order entry through project completion.
  • Maintain project information, schedules, customer requirements, and documentation within the JIM.
  • Support communication with customers, contractors, builders, and internal departments.
  • Review project requirements and identify missing information, material concerns, or scheduling risks.
  • Coordinate with Order Entry, Estimating, Production, Logistics, Supply Chain, and Customer Service to support project schedules.
  • Monitor open orders, production status, material availability, and upcoming delivery requirements.
  • Follow up on assigned action items and communicate status updates to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Assist with coordinating deliveries based on customer and jobsite requirements.
  • Provide customers with timely updates regarding order status, deliveries, changes, and potential delays.
  • Maintain accurate project records, notes, and required paperwork.
  • Assist with resolving order discrepancies, material issues, delivery challenges, and customer concerns.
  • Escalate significant project risks, customer concerns, and schedule conflicts to the appropriate Project Manager or manager.
  • Access and maintain customer portals as required.
  • Participate in project reviews, customer meetings, and cross-functional planning discussions.
  • Build positive working relationships with customers and internal teams.
  • Support senior Project Managers with reporting, project follow-up, and special assignments.

  • Reliable coordination between customers and internal departments.

This position is designed as a developmental path toward a Project Manager role. As the Junior Project Manager demonstrates knowledge of company processes, customer requirements, project coordination, and independent decision-making, they may be assigned increasingly complex customers and projects.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in business, construction management, supply chain, or a related field preferred.
  • Zero to two years of experience in project coordination, customer service, construction, logistics, manufacturing, or a related environment.
  • Previous project management experience is helpful but not required.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and follow established processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and follow-through.
  • Comfortable communicating with customers and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to identify issues, gather relevant information, and escalate concerns appropriately.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and other business systems.
  • Willingness to learn company products, processes, customer requirements, and the JIM.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday.
  • Occasionally lift up to 50-100 pounds.
  • Ability to travel to customer locations or jobsites as needed.
  • Ability to work in both an office and manufacturing/warehouse environment
