POSITION SUMMARY
The Inventory & Quality Assurance Auditor is responsible for ensuring consistent operational, food safety, cleanliness, service, and quality standards across the company's restaurant locations. Based in Birmingham, MI, this position will conduct regular audits and operational reviews at company locations, identify areas of improvement, document findings, and work closely with restaurant management and leadership to ensure corrective actions are implemented. The ideal candidate has hands-on restaurant or hospitality experience, strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to objectively evaluate operations while maintaining positive relationships with restaurant management and staff.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct regular quality assurance and operational audits at company restaurant locations.
- Evaluate compliance with company policies, procedures, operational standards, and best practices.
- Review both front-of-house and back-of-house operations for consistency and compliance.
- Evaluate food safety, sanitation, cleanliness, food handling, storage, labeling, temperature control, and product rotation procedures.
- Assess restaurant cleanliness, organization, appearance, equipment, and overall condition.
- Evaluate guest service, hospitality standards, employee interactions, and overall guest experience.
- Identify operational deficiencies, inconsistencies, safety concerns, and areas of risk or improvement.
- Document audit findings accurately and provide clear, actionable recommendations.
- Prepare and distribute audit reports to appropriate restaurant management and leadership.
- Work with restaurant management to establish and implement corrective action plans.
- Follow up on previously identified issues to ensure corrective actions have been completed.
- Identify recurring operational trends and communicate recommendations to leadership.
- Review compliance with applicable health, food safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Verify required licenses, permits, postings, and operational documentation are maintained, as applicable.
- Assist with developing and maintaining company-wide quality assurance standards, audit forms, and checklists.
- Support leadership with special operational reviews, investigations, new restaurant openings, and other projects as needed.
- Maintain accurate and confidential audit records and documentation.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in restaurant, hospitality, operations, quality assurance, food safety, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience with Restaurant 365 (R365) accounting software.
- Previous restaurant management or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of restaurant operations, food safety, sanitation, and hospitality standards.
- Experience conducting restaurant, food safety, sanitation, or operational audits preferred.
- ServSafe Manager or other recognized food safety certification preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify operational inconsistencies and potential risks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to objectively evaluate operations and provide constructive feedback.
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with restaurant management and leadership.
- Strong follow-through and accountability in tracking corrective actions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace.
- Ability to regularly travel to company restaurant locations throughout the Detroit metropolitan area.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends, based on operational needs.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and work in restaurant environments, including kitchens, dining rooms, storage areas, and other operational spaces.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is based in Birmingham, MI, with regular travel to the company's restaurant locations throughout the Detroit metropolitan area. The role will work in both office and restaurant environments and will require time spent in kitchens, dining rooms, storage areas, and other operational spaces. The position may occasionally require evening or weekend hours based on audit schedules and business needs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This role requires a combination of office and restaurant-based work and may require standing, walking, and moving between work areas for extended periods of time. You will need to be able to operate a computer and other office productivity equipment for a significant part of each day. This role frequently requires you to move throughout our restaurant properties, including kitchens, dining areas, storage areas, and other operational spaces. The role occasionally requires the ability to bend, stoop, reach, climb stairs, and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds. You will also need to be able to operate a motor vehicle to visit various properties and meeting sites and communicate effectively in person, before groups, and over the telephone.
