Amusement Maintenance Mechanic

The City Forum is seeking a full-time Amusement Maintenance Mechanic to keep our major attractions safe, reliable, and ready for guests. This position performs inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance documentation for our Drop Tower, Roller Coaster, Go Karts, and bowling alleys.

What You’ll Do

• Complete scheduled daily, weekly, monthly, and annual preventive maintenance.
• Inspect assigned attractions before opening and immediately report safety or readiness concerns.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control-system problems.
• Maintain amusement rides, Go Karts, and bowling equipment according to manufacturer instructions and applicable inspection requirements.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns during scheduled shifts while protecting guest and employee safety.
• Remove unsafe equipment from service and return it only after the issue has been corrected and the equipment verified as safe.
• Maintain accurate inspection logs, repair histories, maintenance records, and parts-usage records.
• Keep tools, replacement parts, lubricants, and critical spare parts organized.
• Coordinate specialized repairs, inspections, and parts orders with approved vendors when needed.
• Help attraction operators recognize warning signs, complete basic checks, and report problems correctly.
• Keep maintenance areas clean, secure, and compliant with approved safety procedures.

What You’ll Need

• Experience repairing amusement rides, bowling equipment, automotive systems, industrial machinery, or comparable equipment is preferred.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, service manuals, and manufacturer instructions.
• Experience with motors, sensors, switches, relays, hydraulics, pneumatics, and control systems is preferred.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, meters, and diagnostic equipment.
• Dependability, organization, a safety-focused mindset, and the ability to work independently.
• Ability to communicate equipment status and repair timelines clearly.
• Willingness to complete manufacturer, equipment-specific, and safety training required for assigned work.
• Willingness to complete employment verification and a background check, consistent with applicable law.

Schedule

This is a full-time position averaging 35–40 hours per week. Scheduled mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required based on business needs. This position does not have an after-hours on-call requirement.

Physical and Safety Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, bend, climb, kneel, and work safely around moving machinery.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined equipment areas when properly trained and protected.
• Ability to use required personal protective equipment and follow lockout/tagout and other approved safety procedures for which training has been provided.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Safety comes before uptime. Any equipment that cannot be operated safely must be stopped, secured, and reported—even when doing so affects opening time or guest availability.
