Facilities Technician

Position Summary

The Facilities Technician performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, inspections, and facility improvement work across multiple SONIC Drive-In restaurant locations. This position supports the overall reliability, safety, appearance, and operational readiness of assigned restaurants.

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, hands-on technician with strong experience in commercial facilities maintenance. This role requires frequent travel and the ability to work independently while maintaining strong communication with restaurant operators, General Managers, vendors, and the Facilities team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Facility Maintenance & Repairs

• Perform general maintenance and repairs at SONIC Drive-In locations within an assigned multi-state territory.
• Troubleshoot and repair facility issues involving plumbing, electrical systems, doors, windows, ceilings, walls, flooring, and exterior components.
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance on HVAC components and coordinate with qualified vendors for specialized repairs.
• Diagnose and resolve equipment and facility issues that affect restaurant operations.
• Repair and maintain interior and exterior fixtures, signage, lighting, parking areas, patios, canopies, and other facility assets.
• Perform basic carpentry, painting, drywall, caulking, sealing, and general construction repairs.
• Identify potential facility issues before they become operational or safety concerns.

Preventive Maintenance & Inspections

• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance visits and facility inspections.
• Inspect restaurant facilities for safety hazards, deferred maintenance, and potential capital repair needs.
• Identify roof leaks, water intrusion, structural issues, and other building deficiencies.
• Ensure facilities are maintained in accordance with company standards and applicable codes.
• Document facility conditions and provide recommendations for repairs or replacement.
