Compensation: $105,000 - $115,000 / year
NDE Level III Technician
Provide technical leadership, oversight, and administration of the company's Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) programs. Serve as the organization's Level III for Visual Testing (VT) and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), responsible for maintaining personnel certifications, procedure development and qualification, interpretation of applicable codes and standards, and technical support to manufacturing, quality, engineering, and customer requirements. Support both commercial and nuclear quality programs by ensuring NDE activities are performed in accordance with applicable procedures, specifications, and regulatory requirements.

NDE Level III Technician

Support both commercial and nuclear quality programs by ensuring NDE activities are performed in accordance with applicable procedures, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
What You Will Do
- Serve as the designated Level III for Visual Testing (VT) and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT).
- Develop, review, revise, approve, and maintain NDE procedures, techniques, forms, and work instructions.
- Train, examine, qualify, and certify NDE personnel in accordance with company certification programs.
- Conduct annual reviews and recertification activities for NDE personnel.
- Provide technical interpretation of applicable codes, standards, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Support qualification and implementation of new NDE methods, equipment, and processes.
- Perform or witness NDE examinations as required to support production, qualification testing, audits, and customer requirements.
- Support investigation of nonconformances, root cause analysis activities, corrective actions, and technical evaluations involving NDE-related issues.
- Participate in internal audits, customer audits, supplier audits, and regulatory assessments associated with NDE processes.
- Review purchase orders, specifications, engineering drawings, and project documentation to identify NDE requirements.
- Support commercial and nuclear programs, including safety-related work where applicable.
- Maintain NDE records, certifications, examinations, and qualification documents.
- Provide technical guidance to Quality, Operations, Engineering, and Project Management personnel.
- Evaluate and recommend NDE equipment purchases, calibration requirements, and inspection technologies.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives associated with inspection effectiveness, personnel qualifications, and process controls.
- Travel occasionally to company facilities, suppliers, customer locations, or training venues as required.
What You Will Have
- Strong knowledge of Visual Testing (VT) and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) methods.
- Current or previous Level III certification in VT and MT in accordance with ASNT SNT-TC-1A or an equivalent employer-based program.
- Minimum 5 years of NDE experience in an industrial, manufacturing, power generation, aerospace, defense, or nuclear environment.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, welding documentation, and inspection requirements.
- Experience developing and approving NDE procedures, inspection instructions, and personnel certifications.
- Strong technical writing, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree preferred.
- Additional NDE certifications (PT, UT, RT, or ET) are a plus.
- Experience with quality systems such as ISO 9001, ASME, NQA-1, or CSA N299 and supporting audits is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
