Research and Data Manager – Complex Family Planning(grants) in Valhalla, New York at Westchester Medical Center

The Research and Data Manager will play a central role in supporting clinical research and programmatic data initiatives within Complex Family Planning. Complex Family Planning is a subspecialty of Obstetrics & Gynecology focused on the management of contraception, abortion, and miscarriage. This position will oversee data collection, management, and reporting for the division’s programmatic grants, while also coordinating data activities for research, with a primary focus on a study examining second-trimester pregnancy loss. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across clinical, research, and administrative teams.

Responsibilities:

Data Management & Reporting

• Oversee data collection, entry, validation, and reporting for grant-related activities
• Ensure compliance with grant reporting requirements, timelines, and data quality standards
• Develop and maintain data tracking systems and dashboards to monitor program metrics
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure accurate and complete data capture
• Prepare periodic reports and summaries for internal stakeholders and grant funders

Research Coordination

• Design and implement data collection workflows for research protocols
• Manage research databases, including form creation, codebooks, and user access
• Ensure data integrity through routine audits, cleaning, and validation procedures
• Coordinate with investigators to support IRB submissions, protocol adherence, and regulatory compliance
• Assist with data analysis preparation, including dataset cleaning and documentation; assist in statistical data analysis
• Identify eligible participants, conduct an informal consent process and participant enrollment
• Interact with research participants to collect data
• Manage and distribute research participation incentives

Collaboration & Communication

• Serve as a liaison between research, clinical, and administrative teams
• Onboard and collaborate with medical students and trainee researchers
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to study design and implementation discussions
• Support dissemination of findings through abstracts, presentations, and manuscripts as needed

Qualifications/Requirements:

Experience:

2–4 years of experience in research coordination, data collection, or data management, required.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

simultaneously

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, or a related field is required.

Master of Public Health (MPH) or related graduate degree, preferred

Licenses / Certifications:

Bilingual in English and Spanish, interest in reproductive health and strong commitment to the principles of

reproductive justice. Experience in reproductive health, family planning, or abortion care research

Experience with research design, data analysis, and statistical methods. Familiarity with grant reporting

requirements (especially state-funded programs). Experience working with sensitive or protected health data

Proficiency with statistical software
