Job Description
The Awake Night Supervisor is responsible for providing supervision, training and direction for direct support professionals assigned to Opengate’s residences during the night shift.
The Awake Night Supervisor demonstrates knowledge of and loyalty to Opengate’s mission, vision, and values. In addition, this position actively participates in assigned projects and committees as to participate collaboratively in the agency’s efforts to ensure ongoing excellence for the residents, as well as for the staff who support them.
This position has a base schedule of 30-hour work week Sunday- Tuesday- 11pm- 9am.
Essential Job Functions
- Visit assigned residences using an agency vehicle during the night on a rotational basis to:
- Ensure the health and safety of the residents
- Support and monitor employees.
- Facilitate the safety and cleanliness of the environment.
- Ensure required data is completed timely and that entries are accurate.
- Maintain overnight staffing ratios in each assigned residence,re-deploying staff when necessary to ensure each residence has adequate coverage. This may include personally providing in-ratio coverage as needed
- Provide crisis intervention assistance when necessary.
- Provide in-service training to overnight staff as needed.
- Provide information to overnight staff as necessary, including distribution memorandums, review of policies and procedures, and other communications.
- Provide information and feedback from the overnight staff to the Assistant Director of Residential Services and/or Residence Manager as applicable.
- Provide oversight during shift transitions.
- Maintain AMAP certification and dispense medication as needed.
- Conduct fire drills as scheduled, complete any required paperwork and report any fire safety issues to the Assistant Director of Residential Services and/or Residence Manager as applicable.
- Follow federal, state and local governmental regulatory guidelines, reporting any to the Assistant Director of Residential Services.
Qualifications
- Must have High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of one year working with people with ID/DD. Two year is preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have and maintain valid driver's license and be certified to operate an Opengate vehicle.
- Must be AMAP certified or eligible to become AMAP certified
Physical Requirements
- This position is a non-sedentary role; requires frequent standing and walking.
- Able to lift 50 or more pounds. The ability to turn, lift and assist individuals with movement.
Hourly: $24.50- 25.50
