Job Description
As Controller, you will direct the financial close and day-to-day accounting operations, administer our ERP system, oversee financial audits, and lead the accounting team. You'll be a key partner in ensuring compliance with government contracting regulations (FAR and CAS) and driving accurate, timely financial reporting across the organization.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Ensure FAR/CAS/DCAA-compliant financial operations and internal controls, including indirect cost rate structures and incurred cost submissions
- Lead close processes and GAAP-compliant financial reporting, including the general ledger, AP/AR, cost accounting, and government-required submissions
- Government Contract Accounting
- Manage cost allocation, indirect rates (Fringe, Overhead, G&A), contract pricing, and the annual incurred cost submission in partnership with contracting officers and auditors
- Lead and mentor the accounting team, coordinate with program and business development teams, and oversee ERP security and audit support
- Support payroll reconciliation, the annual financial audit, budgeting/reforecasts, and multi-state tax compliance
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA Certification
- 9+ years of accounting experience, including 5+ years in government contracting
- Deep knowledge of FAR, CAS, and DCAA audit requirements
- Experience with indirect cost rate development and incurred cost submissions
- Strong proficiency in Deltek Costpoint
- Expertise in GAAP accounting principles
- Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or MBA
- Experience with ERP systems and financial automation tools
- Prior work with healthcare or technology-focused government contractors
WORK DETAILS
- Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST, Monday – Friday
- Fully Remote
- Preferred locations: GA, DC/MD/VA
