Senior AWS Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior AWS Engineer based in United States.

This role offers the opportunity to design, implement, and operate modern cloud solutions on AWS while helping clients advance their digital transformation initiatives.
You will act as a technical subject matter expert, translating business requirements into scalable, reliable, and effective cloud architectures.
The position combines hands-on engineering with client consultation, technical delivery, and project oversight.
You will contribute to CI/CD environments, infrastructure automation, configuration management, and cloud implementation projects.
Working across diverse industries, you will be exposed to modern technologies and agile delivery practices while solving complex technical challenges.
The role also provides opportunities to mentor colleagues, share expertise, and influence engineering practices through leadership and collaboration.

Accountabilities:

As a Senior AWS Engineer, you will provide technical leadership throughout cloud implementation projects while ensuring solutions align with client objectives and engineering best practices.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in AWS, including architecting, implementing, and operating cloud-based solutions.
  • Consult with clients to understand business and technical requirements and translate them into effective AWS solutions.
  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and reliable cloud architectures.
  • Develop and maintain Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) systems.
  • Configure and maintain development, deployment, and automation pipelines.
  • Work with VSTS and related code and configuration management practices.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to automate and standardize cloud infrastructure.
  • Support the full software development lifecycle, from requirements and design through implementation, deployment, and ongoing operations.
  • Provide project oversight and ensure technical deliverables are executed effectively and on schedule.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients to resolve technical challenges and deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate colleagues while sharing technical knowledge and best practices.
  • Contribute to presentations, coaching, technical guidance, and other activities that strengthen the broader engineering team.
  • Identify creative and practical solutions that improve client outcomes and long-term digital capabilities.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate combines strong AWS engineering expertise with a consultative mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead technical initiatives in a fast-moving environment.

  • Strong professional experience architecting, implementing, and operating AWS cloud solutions.
  • Solid understanding of cloud technologies, software development practices, and the full software development lifecycle.
  • Hands-on experience developing and maintaining CI/CD systems and deployment pipelines.
  • Experience with VSTS and code/configuration management.
  • Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Strong consultative and problem-solving skills, with the ability to connect technical solutions to long-term business objectives.
  • Ability to understand client expectations and consistently deliver solutions that meet or exceed them.
  • Experience providing project oversight and executing technical deliverables.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and motivational capabilities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to present technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
