This part-time opportunity is designed for an experienced space systems professional who can provide high-value technical guidance to government and industry stakeholders.
You will support critical space vehicle assembly, integration, and test activities, helping ensure mission objectives and technical standards are met.
The role combines systems engineering expertise with hands-on oversight, technical assessment, and rapid-response support.
You will collaborate with government teams, prime contractors, subcontractors, and senior stakeholders across complex national security space programs.

Work is primarily remote, with occasional onsite engagement in Gilbert, Arizona, and domestic travel as required.

• Provide technical oversight and guidance for critical space vehicle assembly, integration, and test activities performed by government teams, prime contractors, and subcontractors.
• Collaborate with government stakeholders and industry partners to assess technical execution, identify issues, and provide practical recommendations.
• Support systems engineering activities involving complex and potentially classified space systems.
• Provide specialized technical expertise to government space program organizations supporting the conception, development, integration, testing, and operation of space systems.
• Monitor critical tests and rapidly respond to government requests for technical support, reporting, onsite meetings, or other mission-related activities.
• Prepare technical reports, assessments, findings, and recommendations for government program offices and senior stakeholders.
• Apply extensive space vehicle systems engineering experience to identify, analyze, and resolve complex technical challenges.
• Communicate technical findings and recommendations effectively to executive-level leaders, government customers, engineers, and other key stakeholders.
• Support multi-objective technical problem solving and contribute to strategic decisions affecting space vehicle programs.
• Travel domestically and participate in occasional onsite activities as required by program needs.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Physics, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 25 years of progressively responsible experience in space vehicle research and development, systems analysis, and space vehicle systems engineering.
• Extensive understanding of space vehicle systems and the ability to provide credible technical oversight during assembly, integration, and test activities.
• Experience working effectively with government organizations, prime contractors, subcontractors, and senior technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate directly and confidently with executive management and other high-level decision-makers.
• Superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical matters into clear recommendations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to develop and execute solutions to complex, multi-objective problems.
• Availability for domestic travel and occasional onsite work in Gilbert, Arizona.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
• An advanced technical degree is preferred.
• Experience navigating large technical organizations and coordinating access to specialized engineering expertise is advantageous.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships at the executive level is highly valued.
