Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Research, evaluate, and purchase quality materials and products that meet required specifications, schedules, and budget objectives.
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships while negotiating favorable pricing, lead times, and service agreements.
  • Process purchase requisitions and purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to ensure material availability.
  • Analyze market trends, pricing, and supplier performance to support informed purchasing decisions.
  • Ensure suppliers comply with company quality standards, purchasing policies, and procedures.
  • Identify, evaluate, and qualify new or alternative sources of supply.
  • Collaborate with the Estimating team to maintain accurate and current material costs for project bidding.
  • Maintain purchasing records, supplier information, and related data within the ERP system.
  • Support Value Engineering/Value Analysis (VE/VA) initiatives through supplier collaboration and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Conduct supplier visits, audits, and performance reviews as needed.
  • Track and maintain supplier performance metrics and review results with key suppliers.
  • Coordinate with Project Executives, Project Managers, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to ensure supplier deliverables meet project requirements.
  • Partner with Manufacturing and Logistics to ensure component availability and supplier readiness for new programs and projects.
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and supplier agreements that drive long-term value and sustainable results.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Operations.

Qualifications

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, and/or project management.
  • Experience in the architectural millwork, cabinetry, or store fixture industry preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience working with ERP systems preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret bid documents, specifications, shop drawings, blueprints, and spreadsheets.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated team player who contributes positively in a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive and creative approach.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships with team members, customers, and suppliers.
  • Effective negotiation skills and a solid understanding of purchasing and procurement practices.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a willingness to learn and adapt.
