Job Description

Description:

The Surgical Physician Assistant provides advanced clinical support to PRM surgeons, assisting during surgical procedures and performing minor procedures under physician direction in accordance with training and state regulations. This role also supports post-operative patient care, including follow-up visits, prescription refills, and general clinic support. The Surgical PA plays a key role in delivering PRM's unique, in-office, ultrasound-guided approach to treating chronic pelvic pain and endometriosis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist surgeons during surgical procedures

• Perform minor surgical procedures under the direction of the surgeon, based on training and state regulations

• Provide post-operative clinical patient follow-up

• Manage prescription refills

• Provide general clinic support

Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong clinical and technical skills in assisting with surgical procedures

• Ability to work under physician direction while exercising sound independent clinical judgment for minor procedures

• Strong patient-facing communication skills to support post-operative follow-up care

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

This role requires the ability to stand for extended periods during surgical procedures, work within a sterile operating room environment, and travel to hospitals or surgical centers where the supervising surgeon operates.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

• Recent experience assisting in operating rooms with robotic-assisted surgery

• Graduation from an ARC-PA accredited, surgically focused PA program

• Completion of a surgical residency for PAs (after attending PA school)

• On-the-job training (after graduating from an ARC-PA accredited program)

• Ability to obtain credentialing in hospitals where the supervising surgeon operates

• Relevant state medical license (based on assigned location)

• 3+ years of experience

Desired Qualifications:

• GYN experience
