Job Description

Vanderlande Logistics is seeking a Parts Maintainer in support of the team located at the San Diego, California location. This position requires experience and knowledge in the responsibilities as outlined.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct oversight of the sites’ spare parts inventory
  • Maintaining the sites Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and assuring all parts usage is accounted for
  • Daily communications with the site leadership on parts usage and needs
  • Routine communications with the parts department as well as local vendors
  • Initiating all equipment and part orders and tracking the status on regular intervals
  • Maintain the sites PPE inventory and reordering supplies when needed
  • Keeping accurate inventory counts by performing periodical audits composed of physical counts.
  • Providing periodical reports on parts usage, spending and status on all open orders
  • Analyze parts usage patterns and determine Minimum and maximum inventory limits for each part
  • Keep track of lead times for all parts to ensure orders are placed early enough to avoid low or empty stock of crucial parts
  • May be requested to join calls with management and/or customers from time to time to discuss any number of aspects related to the inventory
  • Track and maintain open POs to ensure adequate funding is in place
  • Monitor contract vending machines to ensure tools and equipment are being returned as well as consumable stock levels, reorder as needed.
  • Maintain a neat and organized parts rooms and parts storage areas

Required Skills:

  • Excellent Customer Relations skills required
  • Technically competent and comfortable with computers and able to work calmly during stressful times while maintaining a pleasant and efficient demeanor.
  • Strong understanding of baggage or material handling systems and associated parts and equipment
  • Networking / Hardware / Software skills preferred but not mandatory
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with maintenance and operational support personnel

Education and Experience:

  • Experience: Two + years of experience working in a warehouse environment managing inventory levels and parts usage
  • Typically, an associate’s degree or 1-2 years of vocational technical training is preferred. HS or equivalent required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting (50 to 100 pounds),
  • bending, reaching, climbing, walking, crawling, standing, sitting, climbing stairs, speaking, sight, and/or hearing to complete the job duties.

  • The starting pay rate for this position is $25.20 The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location
