Lead Operations That Keep Our Business Moving
As an Operations Supervisor, you'll play a vital leadership role overseeing daily logistics operations across multiple facilities. This is a dynamic position where no two days are alike. You'll lead teams, support inbound and outbound rail operations, coordinate customer requirements, and ensure every operation is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
You'll spend your day where the action happens—in the lumberyard, coaching employees, solving operational challenges, supporting customers, and ensuring our commitment to safety and service excellence is delivered every day. This is a full-time, salaried (Exempt) leadership position reporting directly to the Director of Operations.
Schedule
Day Operations: Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM-3:30 PM
Overtime is scheduled as needed
Compensation
Starting Salary: $70,000+ annually (Based on Experience)
Plus Annual Performance Bonus
What You'll Do
As an Operations Supervisor, you will:
- Lead daily warehouse, transportation, and logistics operations while maintaining a safe, productive, and customer-focused environment.
- Supervise operations personnel responsible for receiving, inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping, and material movement.
- Support and coordinate inbound and outbound rail operations, ensuring safe, efficient transloading activities and customer service expectations are met.
- Oversee operations across multiple smaller facilities within our lumberyard network, balancing resources, priorities, staffing, and customer requirements between locations.
- Coordinate daily workloads and labor assignments to maximize productivity and operational efficiency.
- Conduct daily start-up meetings, communicate operational priorities, and delegate work assignments.
- Maintain a strong leadership presence in the lumberyard by coaching employees, observing work practices, and removing operational obstacles.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, OSHA regulations, customer requirements, and safety procedures.
- Partner with customers and internal departments to quickly resolve operational challenges while maintaining exceptional customer service.
- Monitor inventory accuracy and support cycle counting, audits, and inventory control initiatives.
- Work closely with Human Resources and Operations Leadership regarding staffing, employee development, attendance, performance management, and succession planning.
- Ensure all employees receive required safety, equipment, and operational training while maintaining accurate training records.
- Participate in leadership meetings and contribute ideas that improve safety, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational performance and customer experience.

- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is preferred. Franklin Logistics utilizes the Camelot WMS.
Work Environment
This position is highly active and requires regular movement throughout yard operations.
Supervisors should expect to:
- Work both indoors and outdoors throughout the workday.
- Perform duties outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, and varying seasonal temperatures.
- Frequently walk rail sidings, lumberyard operations, and work areas.
- Interact regularly with forklift operators, truck drivers, rail personnel, customers, vendors, and employees.
- Occasionally lift up to 40 pounds and safely navigate active industrial work environments.

Requirements:Experience and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required. College degree in Business, Logistics, or similar field is preferred.
- 2 – 5 years’ supervisor experience required
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, Outlook
- Forklift Experience highly preferred
- Previous experience in logistics or supply chain management, preferably in an e-commerce or 3PL environment
